So right now I've been reading that Egypt just cut off the entire Internet from all its people, to stop people organizing the violent protest they are doing to get rid of Mubarek and his son he wants to pass the government on to. Worrying. Governments don't want to fix things; they want to keep people from communicating.

I can read this because five electric co. trucks just restored power after 35 hours -- we were out because of the bad East Coast storm. But we have a generator and it has a "wild card" plug that we can plug into freezers, computer power strips, etc. so we watched video last night in the dark lit by the open woodstove and earlier I recharged all the little devices at once -- readers, iPad, fluorescent lantern, iPhone, laptop -- we've been keeping up with the news using the Fluent News app on the iPad.

So, the new iKindle...that's the kind of name I'm looking for, but none is coming to me. I wonder if anyone would consider it the opposite of intent and disrespectful if I called her "Patricia II"?

I think that's a very nice idea, but I'd suggest just using "Patricia", unless you have already got something else named "Patricia".

Oh, I would call her "Patricia" in general conversation, but "Patricia II" would be her formal name.

Most portable edevices are female; with the notable exception of pocket camcorders, where most are male. Just look at the charging ports and it becomes readily apparent.

I'm afraid I tend to think of all my techno-gadgets as male. Come to think of it, except for liseuse, I think all the French words for tech stuff are male. Well, TV is female, but TV is so old-fashioned. And by the way, I just got a reminder that I will soon be unable to get TV unless I upgrade some of my hardware. I wonder if a digital HD TV is male?

Yes. Because if the purchaser gives the minor the alcohol, you are providing to a minor, which is against the law as well. Contributing to the delinquency of a minor comes up under that too.

And since we (as sellers) have no idea if they're going to share or not, we can't sell it to them.
