Well, the worst I've had is a guy (who is a respected business owner here in town) take his store loyalty card off his keys and throw that at me while yelling for refusing to sell to him because he was accompanied by a minor unrelated to him. (Well, okay, he's respected by everyone except ME...). But yeah. People get pissed when you get between them and their alcohol.

Yep. Honestly, I just couldn't handle it. It stressed me out to no end to card people. And I was terrible at guessing age, I guess, since I carded a 50yo. But then this one guy I almost didn't card, turned out he was barely 21. So I decided I'd rather err on the side of caution rather than raise my children from jail.

I don't believe in naming gadgets, so my nookcolor is called "nook with no name", my Kindle 3 is called "kindle with no name", my Sansa Clip+ is called "clip with no name", etc.

Is it against the law to buy alcohol if accompanied by an unrelated minor over there? Never heard that one before.

I remember my wife getting asked for ID the first time we went to Canada together. She was 26 at the time; I think it made her holiday

Seriously, I'd like to know if the dictionary feature is as cool on the Kindle as it is on the Kindle iPod app, it really blew me away how fast and convenient it is, but it must be a bit slower on an e-ink device, no?

It a lot more fiddly than just tapping on the word. It's one of the few things that makes me want a touch screen.

(You need to use the little four-way controller to move the cursor to the word to look up. it then shows a short definition at the bottom of the screen, and you can go to the long definition by clicking the centre button.)

Ah yes, of course, the Kindle doesn't have a touch screen... You're right, it's the only feature that would make me want one... that and maybe a virtual keyboard to be able to make searches (though I guess a real keyboard like the Kindle's would work for that too).
