I really like Olympos and Ilium, I hope that you enjoy them, too!

I'm sure I will, once I get round to reading them. At this stage I think I'm about 2 years behind my reading list.

Me too, stacks of physical books and loads of ebooks on my two Kindles. And still I'm buying books; both physical (on sale) and ebook (free and cheap ones).
I have thought about it.........It's a disease.

Completely agree there. I'd rather not do a tally of the books I bought this month alone. Safe to say I'm guessing it's more than the average person reads in a year...

And, THAT, my friends, is what we have in common on this forum. Stacks and stacks of to-be-read books, paper or electronic.

What? I thought the rule was "she who dies with the longest to-be-read list wins" ?

'Tis!!!

What am I doing? Lots on my mind. Disturbed at Books on Board "losing" 2/3 of my wishlist at their site because they're having problems with the feeds from Midnight Ink (Llewellyn) and St. Martin's Press. I was really disturbed when I got home at midnight last night and discovered it, I'm better now that I've gotten a response from BoB telling me what's going on and that it's supposed to be temporary.
I overslept even for me today - Chris got up early to do some work on his computer, but I went back to sleep, so I'm having a hard time getting alert today.
Contemplating our fifth anniversary (this weekend) and planning the honeymoon we haven't taken yet. At the moment looks like we might kill two birds with one stone: The long Amtrak trip we both want to take, coupled with a visit to the kids so I can "meet" my granddaughter. That part of it (the trip) won't be until March or April, but that's fine with me, I'd rather wait until it's a bit warmer (and maybe greener) at the destination (Texas). The only part I'm dreading is renting a car in Dallas and driving out to where my daughter lives (about a hundred miles, through Dallas/Ft. Worth metro traffic). Well, Chris would be the one driving. I'll be sitting in the passenger seat with my eyes closed.

Sounds like a plan to me! Is there an "around" loop for that city area?

Yes..we could go farther south and hit I-20 and take that as a loop (and just keep going, the town my daughter lives in is right off the interstate.) But I-30 (which is the one that goes through the big middle of everything) also dumps you into 20 when you get out of the metro area, and as far as I've ever seen, there isn't much difference between traffic on the two, except during the height of summer on a weekend (30 takes you past both Ranger Stadium and Six Flags).

LOL yep, probably. Only difference than the usual thing with us (Chris chooses route), is that I know this area and he doesn't. Which will be a first with us.

I tell people the nice thing about ebooks is that you don't have to call the paramedics if my unread ebook stack topples over on me.

Since the pbooks tend to be hardcovers, a danger does exist there...

@kk, i'm pretty sure there is a sequel of 11 books called "the legend of the seeker". it reminded me of the wheel of time in a lot of ways, but i found it less boring. i think the autor is terry goodkind or something like that.
oh yeah, the best part: it's finished

And there's a TV series. Or was, I think it's been cancelled. The book series is called the Sword of Truth and it is, indeed, by Terry Goodkind.

I've had iffy luck with Goodkind, are you sure about it?

It is Australia day! yippee!

I have just noticed that the neighbour across the back has put up a flag!
'Yay!' I thought, but I noticed that there was something odd about the flag!

It is a New Zealand flag!

Is that just a little bit rude?
