I've gotten two 55%s O_O
It's just weird because I always get low coupons.

Delphi Classics has a 40% discount if you spend $40. Therefore you'll only pay $24, or €17.50. After spending $40 at Delphi, your TBR will have extended into infinity.

I'm thinking of just buying the entire English catalogue (the part that I don't yet have, that is...)

I just went to borrow a book from my local library's ebook service, and I found this:

Quote:
Derbyshire is one of only four councils to be selected for a year-long eBook pilot scheme created by the Publishers Association and the Society of Chief Librarians.

From March 2014 to March 2015 Derbyshire will receive access to an extra 1,000 eBooks that are not normally available for libraries to buy and will include big-name authors and high profile releases.
This could save me quite a bit. It seems to include all of Agatha Christie's books, and the likes of George R R Martin.

Of course, I own and have read all of the Game of Thrones books, and am about 35 books away from my first unowned Christies, but in principle it could save me some money.

I was almost tempted to ask someone for their 75% off coupon and then reminded myself that I can't read it for some time. So, that helped.

It's true Dr. Nefario. It could save you money, especially the Agatha Christie novels since most of those don't have any order once you've read the first. I also bought the Game of Thrones for my Mom. Even with 3 e-copies, there are still 19 requests before me.

I now have 53 Delphi Classics, on top of my head.

I've read them both now, and they were OK, but with such a big TBR list I should have just got the freebie.

However, I have managed to resist any other purchases so far this month.

I anticipate buying one book from Baen's May monthly bundle from Kobo with a coupon, but I don't know if that'll be this month or next month (it rather depends on whether Kobo get the books at the same time as they're released at Baen's ebooks site, i.e. around the 16th April, or whether they have to wait for the paper release, around 1st May.

But I'm not doing too badly this April. Five books bought but seven books read (so far). And I did very well in February with just two books bought and 16 books read.

It's January and March where I fell down. 142 books bought and 45 books read.

But now that Baen's ebooks are available and discountable at Kobo, I may be buying fewer bundles. I still have hopes that I'll get to the end of 2014 having spent under $480 on ebooks.

I'm doing well this month. Two books and an audiobook so far, but all 3 under $3. If I get another 75% off coupon, I'll consider buying something in the UK, but otherwise, next contest.

I ended up spending a lot this month on other stuff including the unexpected purchase of a new Itouch. Long story short, my Itouch's button wasn't working and my protection plan expired last month. Manager offered a current generation Itouch for 1/2 off and I took that option. With help from a teenager online, my original Itouch is fixed (software issue). Now, I have too many Ipods, so giving a family member a choice between a 16 gig 4th gen nano or an 8 gig 6th gen nano. Don't know what she'll pick. SHE thought I was going to give her the old Itouch!

I have just bought The Sea Without a Shore by David Drake from Kobo with a 75% off coupon, instead of buying the Baen bundle, since it was the only one in the bundle I really wanted. $2.81 instead of $18.

That's a good result!

That's awesome savings!! I might get there eventually, but I've only read the first 2 books in that series. Will have to read the 3rd soon.

$2.81 instead of the $18 I might have spent on the bundle. $2.81 instead of the $9.99 the book itself costs, or the $6 I would have accounted for if I'd bought the bundle.

(Why $2.81 instead of $2.75? Exchange rates, VAT and my particular way of accounting for £/$ ebook prices)

You did good for sure. As for me, I totally failed in my quest to not buy anymore books this month. Oh well, books make me happy.
