In the UK, ordered my Kindle 3g+wifi on 13/08/2010, just received an email saying it should be here tomorrow!

Just had an email for my 12th of August order saying
"Estimated arrival date: September 13 2010"
Checked my Amazon account and it says
"Dispatched: Delivery Estimate: 28 Aug 2010"
Amazon must be using some sort of time vortex in the delivery system. Better make sure I'm in when the postman comes two weeks ago!

Well mine is shipping on the 11th............and I'l miss it by a few days according to the expected delivery date. I guess that's fate - hopeful the postman doesn't kick around too much before I can get to pick it up lol

Amazon are usually very generous with their delivery dates. Mine arrived a day earlier than the expected date. Also with other items i've ordered in the past they usually arrive a few days before the estimated date.

Does this dispatch date show on your order page? Mine just gives a delivery Estimate of 13 Sep.

They've changed the estimates on amazon.co.uk from 20th Sept to "2-3 weeks".

Still no delivery estimate for my order on the 31st August

They send you an email with telling you when it is dispatched and giving an expected date of delivery. Mine arrived a few days before that delivery date.

Mines on the way at last (12th August order, 3g). Definitely got that big kid/Christmas eve feeling!
10th of Sept was the original estimate when I placed the order so, if postman Pat pulls his first class finger out, I should get it on time.

Not necessarily - they always give a long delivery estimate, but it typically takes much less time than they say. Once it's dispatching soon, it usually goes within 24 hours in my experience - so I'd be unsurprised if you got it on the 11th/12th.

I am patiently waiting for Notion Ink's Adam and I have originally decided that I don't really need Kindle. However, feeling left out I just could not resist any longer so I have ordered the 3G Kindle today. The current price is £149 - do I remember it wrong or did it used to be £139?

I guess I can now forget about Kindle for a month. At least I will have plenty of time to ponder what colour cover I should get, or to cancel my order, if I change my mind!
