iPad Anyone else NOT like reading on their iPad?

well i can't recommend numbers as a replacement for excel. looks great, but low on features, even for my most casual spreadsheets. i much prefer documents to go.

if you do decide on a replacement, please share your experience with us.

Just want to +1 for Document to Go.... I am a long time user of d2g and find it also to be the best on the Ipad. Not perfect, and of course you do not get the complete MS Office experience for $15, but still, the best available now.....

That's one of the drawbacks/benefits to having a color screen (be it LCD). People have different preferences and the good thing is that hopefully they can be tailored to the individual if the software allows it. That means that if I have a preference for how bright and what colors and I can adjust, then the reading experience on an iPad would be better for me. eink however it a one size fits all. You either like it or you don't. Some people cannot stand the flashing and some people just deal becasue they like the screen enough otherwise.

It's all down to personal choice. For me, I can deal with an eink screen or an iPad screen easily enough. But I do find that when reading via an iPad, the brightness does have to be turned down (using iBooks) and for the Kindle App, I like the sepia setting on the iPad.

My 505 is a lot more portable and less chance of it getting stolen at some T station/bus stop (local public transportation). Even iPhones/Touches are more likely to get stolen them my 505.

I'm trying QuickOffice. It's sort of meh. You can't save on the fly and if you exit without stopping, your work is lost. It interfaces nicely with DropBox and MobileMe, though.

Right now, I'm thinking not so much on replacement. I keep running across things I want to do with the computer and swear because I'm not getting it out today.

Yes, d2g does the MS Office doc.... Word, Excel and Powerpoint. You can create and edit in all those formats.... and more....

You can restrict yourself to only this or only that system but i feel sorry for you for that kind of attitude. I am not "married" to eink and Not to Apple, my needs come first.

And i think that was the discussion about. Not about building up fractions against kenny or the whole flamewar some people fight in this thread (suprise, suprise you are involved into the fight )
