Voyage should still be working for now same as ever (assuming you refer to ability for drm to be removed?). The PW3 got screwed because it has 5.16.2.1.1 firmware but Voyage is only on 5.13.6 according to Amazon's page on software updates anyway.

Of course, even it is working right now, no guarantees on how long.

Someone posted an error log on GitHub for 5.12.2.2 is no longer working. But I don't know enough about reading these Logs to tell if it's new, unbroken DRM or user error.

Does "Unknown type encountered in envelope, expected VoucherEnvelope" mean new DRM has been implemented?

I am for sure no expert either...

but in one of the threads from last month when it was figured out that 5.16.2.1.1 stopped working, this thread, issue 972, there seems to be the same message.

Well, that doesn't look good. I have still been fine with my Paperwhite 2. I haven't bought anything new since the end of last year though. I just removed a few previous downloads from the device and re-downloaded. When I did the same on my Oasis 2, the re-downloaded books immediately had the hardened KFX DRM.

...And, Amazon just sent a copy of that email directly to my Kindle as a "book." Yeah, I can see how it's so hard to continue supporting the device.
