Mine did at first too, but after an update it stopped. I no longer remember which update it was. 4.32, I think. I've had mine since release.

I started having lockups after upgrading to 4.35 on my Clara HD. Any tips on how to start diagnosing? I should note the book I'm reading is quite large (>700,000 words).

Is the book a single file? In my experience with poorly-made omnibuses, that sometimes causes lockups unless you split it.

It is. I built it with the FanFicFare plugin from this AO3 series https://archiveofourown.org/series/3069918, using FFF's anthology feature.

So, after a period of stability, my Sage had another glitch. Like before, when I pulled down the in-book menu to switch to another book, it froze and wouldn't turn back on. I pushed the button repeatedly, and it took ages to even get a response on the screen, but it didn't turn on. I tried again later on and it went into a factory reset. Seems okay again, but there goes all the time I spent sideloading and categorizing books. Again. Don't think I'll bother putting much on there for the moment.

Image viewing and zooming only work with kepubs, not epubs.

Sorry, I meant kepubs.

normal epubs, converted to kebubs, the image viewing and zooming works.

epub3, converted to kepub, the image viewing and zooming does not work.
Is that so?

I mean the marking of a text (highlighting) with touch pen.

Sometimes the highlight is no more there. The text still is, but not the hightlight.

On my Sage, image viewing and zooming work for converted kepubs whether the original epub was an epub2 or an epub3.

NM stands for NickelMenu. It's a menu hack that provides shortcuts to various settings on your Kobo like turning on FTP, toggling screen capture, or in this case, launching KOReader. It's wicked geeky, but powerful. I have a Mac, too, and implement it just fine.

Hello,

On my Kobo Aura 2, after updating to FW 4.35 and re-installing Koreader 2023.01, when I launch it, display is rotated by 180° but when I touch the screen, it "clicks" on items as if the display was not rotated.

I looked in koreader crash.log and it says :

Switching fb to 8bpp @ rotation 3 . . .
Setting bitdepth to 8bpp
Setting grayscale to 1
Setting rotate to 3 (Counter Clockwise, 270°)
Bitdepth is now 8bpp (grayscale: 1) @ rotate: 3 (Counter Clockwise, 270°)

Variable fb info: 758x1024 (768x2048), 8bpp @ rotation: 3 (Counter Clockwise, 270°)
Fixed fb info: ID is "mxc_epdc_fb", length of fb mem: 3145728 bytes & line length: 768 bytes

Anyone knows what I am doing wrong ?

Here are the steps I did :

- I had an old version (a year ago) of koreader working
- I updated to KW 4.35
- Reinstalled koreader with OCP-KOReader-v2023.01 and install ps1
- At this point, nickel menu was working but Koreader hung when I clicked in nm entry
- I factory resetted
- Reinstalled with the script
- Still the same, I updated nm config file with snippet found on mobileread

menu_item : main : KOReader NM : cmd_spawn : sed -i '$s/.$/4/' /mnt/onboard/.kobo/version
chain_always : cmd_spawn : quiet : exec /mnt/onboard/.adds/koreader/koreader.sh

- KoReader now launches but rotated
