Jon: Your attitude on this has been a little ridiculous. As it is on other things (eg. Any time someone says "Oasis" you make sure you tell people it is the worst ereader ever, or pockets and ereaders). You have made it clear that you think that the larger ereaders are not good. As are the smaller ones. And that buttons are terrible. But, don't worry, you are doing exactly what I expected. You suddenly change tack and now we'll be hearing how this new ereader is the best thing since sliced bread and anything else is rubbish. And you haven't even seen one to get a true impression of these new devices.
The only thing I've been saying is that 6" is now too small. I've preferred a larger screen since I've been using the H2O. The Oasis 1 is the one that's terrible. I've never said the current Oasis is terrible hardware. As for buttons, I've had them and I find no need for them. If removing them would lower the cost, I'm all for it. I'm just hoping Kobo's buttons are not going to be obtrusive.

I finished loading the Sage with those 5600 books and read a couple of hours yesterday evening. I also took it with me on the "métro" (the tube for londoners, subway in the US): it fits in the outside pocket of my medium size handbag, the shape less weird than the Forma was.

I'm pleased with it:
  • it was comfortable holding either on my sofa yesterday, or seated in the métro or the waiting room I ended in. I don't think I could have read on it one handed while holding a pole in a bus or a moving train, but I try to avoid rush hours, and I'm often offered a seat anyway - the privilege of age.
  • I like the screen color, either white in daylight, or with a little "natural colour" at night - I hate that my Libra H2O is still lemon colored when I set natural colour at 0.
  • and I like that I can take an 8" reader on the go. Since mostly reading on Elipsa, the 7" felt lacking.
I noticed that I don't often use the buttons when reading. I don't know whether it is because I read mostly on the Elipsa, although I very much miss them, there, specially when navigating in books or collections list, or reading a PDF in landscape mode.

Just checked, it is at 78% and I've read as said a couple of hours yesterday, and perhaps 2 hours today. Not outstanding, but doesn't mean anything until I've calibrated it, for which I have no time right now.

How long are people waiting from the time of purchase on the Canada kobo site to the time they ship it to receiving. I’m impatiently waiting haha. I feel like from last experience it’s very slow. Thanks!

I felt loading all my books (5573 items, 4.71 Go) was much less painful.

I don’t know about Canada, I’m in the UK and ordered last week. Just spoke to chat about another issue and asked about shipping and they said the whole process is 7-10 business days, so up to three weeks from ordering.

I hate waiting

I'd pre-ordered on the 5, my Sage should arrive tomorrow (I have some doubts based on where it currently is), but at least it's in UPS's hands. It took a few extra days for it to leave Kobo's, they claimed shipping was going to happen on the 19th, mine didn't actually ship until the 21st.

It's worth remembering that for a short time the Sage was out of stock on Kobo's site, perhaps they underestimated the interest in the Sage.

One thing i do not like kobo is their support. I intend to order a sage with a stylus and extra stylus tips and i asked their support if i can have all items ship at the same time. I will be using a forwarder from the US to Philippines. And the reply is they fo not know if all items will be shipped at the same time.

I hate waiting
3 weeks from ordering may mean I get mine later this week. The website is still saying processed. I wonder where our Kobos bound for UK readers actually are, though?

I just checked Rakuten JP and even they have listed Sage as "ships when new stock arrives". No delivery estimate.

It looks like they underestimated the demand.

I pre-ordered Oct. 5th, and mine shipped from Mississauga on the 19th, arrived in Montreal on the same day early in the morning where it sat until Saturday the 23rd when it made it to Ottawa. It arrived at my local post office east of Ottawa this morning and went out for delivery. Canada Post was at my door 10 minutes ago to deliver it but as I am out of town this week they just left a delivery notice in the door. I'll have to make a trip to the post office when I get back next week.

Really it should have been delivered by Wednesday or Thursday last week, but this is Canada Post so....

Hello All,

do you suggest to move from Forma 8GB to Sage?
