Very nice! It does seem to work. I had to re-check the setting to apply custom icons on startup. But after that it worked fine. Thanks DaltonST!

Comic formats (CBC, CBR, CBZ) don't appear in the list in JobSpy configuration, viz:



I guess that's because they don't appear in Preferences->Behaviour->Preferred output list - I wonder why?

So, I put the following into Plugins Tweaks - job_spy_default_output_format = {'Media': 'CBZ'}

When I went to my Media Library and opened the Save to disk tool's flyout menu, with I saw this



I thought i might have seen 'CBZ' rather than EPUB, which is what I have in Prefs->Behaviour. And when I selected 3 books which only have a CBZ format and did Save to single directory I got this for all three books:

Failed to save: Book One by Author One to disk, with error:
    Requested formats not available

So, I dropped an EPUB into Book One and tried again, predictably that EPUB was copied, but the second and third books gave the 'Requested formats no available' message.

Have to restart Calibre after Customizing And Tweaking. Check Customizing to verify that it is still activated. Cannot activate it until Tweaked, or it may turn itself off because it is not tweaked.

The default output format in Prefs > Behavior is for conversion.

The dropdown list in JS Customization is built from Calibre's own dropdown list in Prefs > Behavior.

Bingo - that fixed it. Thanks.

Pretty sure I activated it and did a restart before I entered the plugin tweak. Then I did the plugin tweak and another restart, but I don't recall checking the activate.

Its not entirely clear to me why both the drop down in the plugin configuration, and the plugin tweak are needed - apart from the fact that the drop down doesn't include all possible formats.

Added - the Save to Disk flyout entries now have 'CBZ' when I'm in my Media Library, and 'EPUB' when I'm in my Main library etc

The ToolTips explain why. If a library is not tweaked, it uses the JS default. The Behavior value is updated by JS for each library at each change. ToolTip explains more.

Hey there,

I had an idea for an addition to the plugin. Bulk delete identifiers. I have yet to figure out how to delete the identifiers without copy/replace an identifier that shows only once over to the one I want to delete. But adding another bulk delete on identifiers, choose which ones on selected books would be really great. Some of my books have gotten out of control with them over the years, and I want to start fresh but can't do it all at once.

Re: the User Category Icon Tool: It does occur to me that the droplist of recently-used icons would be more user-friendly if you set it up like the one in Calibre's tool.
Screenshot with JS+ at the top, and Calibre at the bottom.

To access the Calibre one: Preferences >> Look and Feel >> Far-right tab is Column Icons.

To be honest though, it doesn't matter to me.... I use a different icon for each category, so I never need to access the recent list..

The drop-down for the Current Value's Icon File has all of the icon files for all of the Values currently in the Current Value's drop-down list. That is specifically to be able to easily choose other icons of other Values with the identical Source. Their icon images along with their icon files can easily be viewed simultaneously in the matrix below. What you suggest conflicts with the above, so it won't happen.


Added: Further, in addition to the above method, the ToolTips for the Icon Files in the Matrix tell you exactly where in your personal system that JS is keeping the already-assigned Icon Files. Just click the "Browse" button, and navigate to that directory, which will end in .../calibre/config/plugins/tagbrowser_icons. There, choose from any of your "recently used" Icon Files based on their sorted creation dates. Or, sort by file name which will give you their sorted Sources (custom column name).
