What trap? If the device is not working and you cannot do a successful factory reset, then the image might be needed. But, if the problem is the one we have discussed over the last couple of pages, the image will not work. Not able to complete the setup due to the WiFi not connecting is a separate issue which has been explained with instructions on how to do it.

Hi davidfor,
I am new on the forum and I don't understand very well how it works,
unfortunately I have a problem with my KOBO MINI (N705), I have probably damaged the contents of the internal SD wanting to replace it with a larger one, can you send me an image file?

As I said in the PM, it works for me. I can only guess that you are getting the shorted version that MR uses. Can you try again and PM me the URL that is shown in the browser when you see the error?

Most have been created by others. When I have done it, I used whatever Windows imaging tool I had lying around. I do it rarely enough that I have to search for it. From a Linux or MAC, dd will work and I think I have used it. Though maybe for the restore rather than the creation.
