Using it everyday here. Right now in fact. Just renewed/continued my Amazon Prime. Fire is still a twelve to me!

This is a long shot:
Does anyone have a playbook with its 2.0 OS installed and some android apps running and a kindle fire?
How does the android apps compare in both? Esp the reading apps..Aldiko/fbreader/moonreader etc.,

I have a PB and am kind of considering the KF.
But if the PB can handle android apps reasonably well, then the KF will be a mute point for me.

I really like my Fire too. I use mine every day. The 7" is the perfect size for me.

I'll probably renew my Prime also. 2 day free shipping is nice.

I think I'm getting a Fire for Christmas. I was unsure that it's the tablet/e-reader I should get after a Seattle Times article basically bashing it (you'd think Seattle Times would be easier on a Seattle-based company). But the word I hear on the street from friends and this forum is that it's pretty good. Can't wait to try it.

For the dollar spent, I'm using the KF more than the NT. And since the last update stopped sideloading on the NT, time will tell if I keep that one.

I initially would have said 8, but it's actually gone up for me. I use it all the time, and I'm so happy with it, I'd give it a 9 now. I'd give it a 10 if it had more customizable features/book collections and a physical volume button.

Not sure I'm ready to give it a 10 yet, but it is very close. I'm sure it will have no problem from me with another/or two updates. Overall, I really love it and find out how much more each day.

I wasn't sure in the beginning, but after 3 weeks of using it and getting all the apps and wifi connections to work - I rate it a "10".

This thing goes everywhere with me in my purse. Best $199 I spent all year. Love it!

I'm really happy with the Fire so far. I like it better than my Nook Color. I'd give my level of happiness a 9 for the same knock-downs in your list.

Use it daily even more than my desktop Pc and new laptop even though its got a lot smaller screen.

Love it esp for only $199

After a bit over a month, due to an Amazon gift card received as a christmas present I bought some music and uploaded it to my free cloud storage...wow...one more thing I love about the Fire and the Amazon ecosystem....does that make it a 13! on a one-ten scale

Mine is still a 9 but I brought it here to NC with me and it's has been my lifeline to the internet.

I think mine's probably a 7 but a lot of that's down to being an international user (ie no apps, no movies etc). I like the size and format. I still think the speaker placement is odd and I hate the carousel.
