$60 nitted sleeve

If you're willing to pay THAT mucho just for the sleeve maybe you should invest in this(instead of cardboard).

Yes.

And although I don't like to cast aspersions on anyone's taste, the sleeve in question uses about a dollar's worth of materials and I could whip one out in an evening while watching 'Fraggle Rock'. Plus, it'll stretch out of shape if you actually use that handle to carry it (trust me on that).

Sometimes I look at Etsy and wonder if people are actually willing to pay those prices, but yes, I guess they are. I use Etsy for getting ideas but other than supplies and patterns, I've never bought anything there.

I'm guessing that us not US$ but rather the Argentinian Peso (it is an Argentinian site) that use the $ sign as well. So considerably less than US$60! I'm guessing US$12-15, making it very reasonable considering the work. (If I'm right. that is...)

Ah, that makes more sense.

But putting knitted or crocheted straps or handles on anything is asking for trouble, unless it's also felted.

How about titanium armour plating

http://www.securityprousa.com/timuakhaarpl.html

There's even enough material there for BOTH sides of your T1!

While the plating itself is pretty cheap you might need to invest in some heavy-duty cutting gear to get it down to size.

Well allright, maybe it's not exactly cheap but it's ON SALE! Down from $220!

However, I have some bad news. I've just been told that the environment inside many ladies handbags is comparable to continuous, rapid AK-47 fire.

The lightweight(6.2 lb) fused titanium and steel armor plating I suggested earlier will actually repell only a few, discrete hits of 7.62mm(.308 caliber(not calibre)) full-metal-jacket rounds.

So, sadly, in the interest of safety I suggest you look for something better. Perhaps ceramic or even reactive armor.

What's the difference between:
SONY READER PRS T1 LUXE + LIGHT
and
SONY READER PRS T1 LUXE + LIGHT 2?
Is it that the Light 2 got a stand?

That is what the photos at Gecko suggest.

I don't think the way their lights stick out of the back of the case is good.

I have a Timbuk2 Kindle Touch Envelope Sleeve in Black/Gunmetal/Red: http://http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/pr...nvelope-sleeve, and it fits the PRS-T1 with almost no room to spare (although room for the stylus beside it). I think it provides suitable protection, although I don't know if it helps protect the screen from being broken. I would totally recommend it (especially as it is currently on sale)!

Yes! 60 pesos is about 12 Euros... 5,66 Argentine pesos for an Euro

On the other hand, my Papyre 6.2 (AKA Bq Avant) was carried around in a simple neoprene sleeve it came with... and it came out unharmed. Sometimes Sony lighted cover is bulky and I hate the plastic finish... Couldn´t they have covered it with leather all the way? I´ll try the knit for a change, with buttons, I agree on the knitted handles.

My experience from making my own covers is that 3 layers of medium weight chipboard (available from craft stores with the scrapbooking supplies) glued together was rigid enough to protect the screen - and you should protect the screen.

I went for BookArmor Case, costly, but I had gift certificate... It looks like it might be tad big, but I will carry my reader in bit hostile enviroment like in bag with other stuff and such...

I think it's best protection and free shipping is nice. Have to report how it feels once I get it.
