I suffer from pocket overload as well. Company phone, wallet, personal phone.. I thought the 4.3" smartphones were really cool, but just too big for me personally.

Very true, though I do wish sometimes that people would parse what they are fed with a more critical eye.

At the end of the day all we can hope for is competition. I remember when Intel ruled the roost before AMD became a real contender. It doesn't lead to a good outcome for us consumers.

I found the findings presented in a BBC series about mega brands (like Apple) and the neurological reactions of people (with regards to these brands) being like a religious experience rather revealing. I think a subset of society has an unhealthy association with stuff.

BTW. Out of interest what dumbphone do you use? Even some of those so-called dumbphones are pretty smart. I believe Nokia used to include all their Symbian powered devices in worldwide Smartphone stats which was a little contentious.

When I got my tablet it was before ipad 2 came out, so for me, for half the price, I was getting a tablet that I could do all the stuff that the ipad could do + play flash games. I've read comments saying that the ipad was much better because with mine people looking over my shoulder didn't have a good view of the screen. I considered it a bonus because I didn't want people looking over my shoulder to have a good view of the screen.
The ipad has the show-off factor.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet arrives as HP departs

Quote:
As Hewlett-Packard retreats from the tablet market, Lenovo continues its assault. The first ThinkPad Tablets are now available for purchase, the company said today.

The 10.1-inch ThinkPad may have a better shot at success than HP's now-defunct webOS-based TouchPad. It is built around Android, the most popular alternative to Apple's iOS, and is aimed at business, not the dicey consumer tablet market.
Priced like an iPad, the ThinkPad will go nowhere.

As I sat here and read about your space limitations, I thought about what I carry on a daily basis:

iPhone
Kobo Touch
Blackberry
At least one DTB

And this is before we get to the regular stuff women carry in purses.

I think you gentlemen just need a cute little man purse.

Excuse me, satchel. I think you'll find the lack of space restraints quite freeing.

That piece was a illogical fluff of dandruff.

Quote:
The BBC had the researchers give an MRI to one (1) Apple enthusiast.
Quote:
They also neglected to mention that the Neurosense, the group whose researcher they interviewed, isn’t some non-profit. They’re a for-profit business that tries to sell clients on the idea that they can learn something from how the brain reacts to products.

Our company is a next generation consumer research enterprise. Using applied neuroscience to see inside the consumer’s mind, we provide leading marketers and public sector clients with accurate and actionable insights into their customer’s cognitive engagement and emotional impulses.

So, they have a vested interest in making people believe this stuff is true.

Almost like the heads of major religions.
His quip about having to be full of bangers and mash to even view the video is quite clever too: http://www.macworld.com/article/1601...s_so_much.html

The first reviews for their first tablet were awful.

Frankly I'm a bit disappointed in the computing power of most tablets. I expect a $500-$700 tablet to have entirely better hardware than a smartphone I can get for $200.

If I only carried what I could fit into my pockets...I'd never leave the house, lol.
