Esp. LoJack for computers (and one assumes, digital entities). You just need to reload a clean BIOS, and the BIOS extension isn't even hidden...

As this was in the time before landline phones could show the caller's number (in the Netherlands), we couldn't do anything about it. Now those people are probably all dead, as there is no one to tell them the correct number to reach the doctor.

I have always wondered how an entire family of people can be that awesomely stupid.

Several years ago we got a new prefix and a hospital changed their number to said prefix. I got numerous calls: hi this is Dr X, has Y Z been admitted yet? Or this is Dr G what can I do for you?
I just told them you need to dial a 2 instead of the 0.
It was about 3 months before fingers were retrained to go up not down.

When we moved to our home in 1991 (back when AT&T was the local employer in our state) all of the prior numbers in our exchange/prefix had been allocated to a local AT&T headquarters building. You'd figure they'd know better, but we frequently got calls for AT&T HQ from other AT&T offices.

One morning I got a call that I immediately recognized as coming from a speakerphone in a conference room (since I had just left a position with AT&T). The person asked to speak to someone I didn't recognize. I told him he had the wrong number, but he apparently didn't really "get it." He asked me if I could transfer his call to that person's secretary. I told him I could transfer him to the kitchen, but he'd just have to wait for me to run down there and pick it up.

I heard many people laughing.

Finally talked to our local Dodge dealer. Turns out the service department did not do their job when we bought the vehicle. Everything they were supposed to do will be done this afternoon.
Luckily it is just minor stuff because we had taken it back the next day for the tire pressure.

Yesterday I finally got the tickets I ordered for the show British comedian Russell Howard is giving in Amsterdam. I thought it was going to be this June, but when I looked closer it's for June 2017. I checked both Howard's website and that of the venue and it seems to be correct. I've never seen tickets go on sale over a year and a half in advance!

Oh, well. At least I have something to look forward to.

Just don't loose the tickets! Put them somewhere you KNOW you will be able to find them; send yourself eMails with the info; add the ticket location on to your calendar!

I think I would tape them onto DECEMBER's page on my 2016 calendar. Then, when I got a 2017 calendar, I could re-tape them onto June 2017.

Just a suggestion.
