How can we NOT be thankful?

Good morning, everyone. It's the Morning After, or perhaps the start of Black Friday. I have a feeling Black Friday may have started on Thursday for too many people this year. I'm so glad I make gifts for those I really care about instead of buying them for every name in my contact list...

Tea time in the territory. Time for Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea, and a bowl of phad grapow gai from the Food Lady. Damn spicy stuff but it tastes sooo good!

I'm quite impressed with 'Thai' Buddhism. Although there is a lot of money spent, it's goes to maintaining and building the temples, and feeding the needy (people as well as stray dogs and cats.) The monks themselves (usually) follow a vow of poverty, receiving only small donations when they do some sort of blessing. Very different from Japanese Buddhism, where the monks charge thousands of dollars to perform any sort of ceremony, drive new expensive cars, and live like royalty.

Neither. I try to avoid any and all politics in Thailand. Actually, I try to avoid any and all politics everywhere, even in the U.S., and it's only recently that I've voiced a position on American governmental actions. I distrust all politicians, and do not believe ANYTHING I am told by anyone in office. I feel the goal of politicians is to self-perpetuate, not to improve the lives of the citizenry.

At work putting the last four hours needed for the week. Then home and off to the winery we got married at for the afternoon. And maybe a movie tonight. I am of the opinion of a movie tonight and tomorrow night, we have guests at the house. Built in baby sitters! BUt my Husband probably wants to spend time with his parents.

Working on some Seven Sons Pu Erh. Happy not to have diaper duty this morning. We went out for Sushi and Japanese food on Wednesday. Little Man loved everything he tried, and he tried a lot, but changing him was interesting yesterday. Given how much he ate last night (turkey, mashed potato, cranberry sauce, apricots, cream corn, roll, gravy, cake, and some other stuff I am forgetting) I am sure today should be fun for the Husband.

Seriously, that kid can eat. It is impressive. I am going to need a second job when he is a teenager just to feed the kid. Or we will have to triple the size of the garden. We planned for pie after he went to bed because none of us wanted to deal with him trying to eat everyones pie and ice cream. Or the sugar high that would have made his falling asleep more challenging. Poor kid, we deprived him of pie.

So a good day was had by all. Today should be fun when I get home. I am a very blessed person. And still full from last night.

Ah, tonight my favourite turkey leftover -- Turkey Mole Poblano. Delicious. Absolutely my favourite Mexican sauce, and it's a perfect fit with turkey. Oh, and a couple of Dos Equis to go with it.

(But I confess, it's just way too much work to make from scratch, so we cheat -- we use Rogelio Bueno. It's actually remarkably good, and really, making from scratch is an all day job with lots of helping hands. )
