Good morning, everyone! What a delightful morning! It really is worth waking up to watch the sun rise over the city, especially with a cup of East India Company's "Assam" tea... and a camera! Every morning is a different light show!



Clouds are such a wonderful canvas for the sun to paint.

Beautiful shot! Of course, I'm much more likely to be up for a sunset than a sunrise.

I'm on mug of tea #5. I'm pretty sure that whatever hit me this morning is the beginning of a sinus infection. Hopefully, it'll be a short one. Meanwhile, I'm wearing my winter coat indoors and sucking down tea.

I get sunsets on the other side of the house, but there's a mountain just a few kilometers away that so far has managed to trap a cloud cover blocking the really good views for me. I'm too close. I keep looking, though. One day I'll get lucky!

Great picture Stichy. The sunset one would make a good counterbalance if you manage to get it. I'm often up before sunrise here (reluctantly), but it's just a grey mess that gradually brightens. Rarely do we get such splendour as you are seeing.

Actually, sunrises are even nicer during the Rainy Season, when the afternoon downpours wash all the dust out of the local area, but leave enough in the upper atmosphere to create some beautiful colors, and crystal clear skies. Another two months and I won't even be able to see this mountain because of the haze...

Well... I was out there... camera on the tripod, all programed to bracket 9 exposures at .3 f/stops change, graduated neutral density filters ready to block out the sun, but those pesky clouds wouldn't co-operate! The ones I wanted behind the sun can be seen on the extreme upper right side of the sky, and the ordinary flat clouds that have been plaguing my skies every night stayed right over the sun! I wouldn't kick this one out of bed, but it's not what I really wanted...

Thanks. I was able to get a good night's sleep and felt much better today.

Two fingers of Glenlivet when I finally managed to get home today. Very little sleep last night, after a scary asthma attack. Better today, though the drive home wasn't fun.

..........and back again from India. It was all I hoped for, although I would have liked hot water (budget trip on a shoestring). But I survived with only one mosquito bite and no food problems at all. Being a vegetarian helps of course. Now I'm working to catch up with my work and travel journal.

Good morning, everyone. Feeling MUCH better today, and had a solid 7+ hours of quality sleep back in my own bed. The sun is out, it's clear and crisp, and my mug has a new tea in it -- Peet's Holiday Breakfast Blend. Nice. A bit on the malty side, and fairly mellow (that mellow must be the Keemun that found its way into this year's blend). Won't ever be my favourite, but certainly a good tea for the season.
