genmaicha. Little Man woke up at 1:00 AM this morning. Crying and calling for me. We could not get him to settle back down. So at 2 AM he was in bed with us. I knew he was tired when he snuggled on my stomach and didn't move. No attempts to crawl around or play, just straight to sleep.

I guess some nights you just need a Mommy.

He went back to his crib at 4 AM, sleeping just fine. Hopefully he sleeps nice and long for his Dad.

On my third mug of Murchie's Russian Caravan, and a half dozen chocolate espresso beans as well. I think my dogs must be tuned to Little Man, they were both having a rough night last night.

Poor little man. I remember many a night with my son doing the same.

Giant pot of soup (stew?) cooking on the stove, so I've been filling and refilling my cup with the broth. Yum.

Water. Turkey Chili in the slow cooker. Little Man slept better last night. I like the snuggles but I don't like the bad dreams that woke him.

A day spent moving data from a failing drive array onto new disks. And working on how to cut down the overall heat load in this enclosure. The solution will be less than what I'd like to do, but all I can actually afford to do right now. The ultimate solution would have me moving to SSDs and a new motherboard with more RAM. And moving this key server to a different enclosure.

Sigh. 5 days of no reliable tea except ghastly hotel tea. And worse, staying in a Pepsi only hotel. Going to be a long 5 days, from a beverage point of view.

Yeah, I usually switch to coffee when I'm on the road. I don't especially like coffee, but it's a decent caffeine delivery system.

Meanwhile, I'm not on the road just now, so I'm finishing my last mug of tea.

Good morning, everyone! Today is the big day! Today I begin my music lessons and learn how to play guitar! Do do do, re re re, mi mi mi..... I'd better drink my tea tea tea. There is Ahmad's "English Breakfast" tea in my mug today, and it's going to be a long day... I've about 700 photos to go through that I shot this weekend of the Lantern Festival here. Fortunately we didn't see any trees or houses on fire this year as the air was cold enough for the Khom Loy hot air balloons to rise quickly, although a few did get trapped in the trees for a few seconds before struggling upwards.
So into my cave to edit photos, then out into the living room to practice Eric Clapton's arrangement of "Hey, Hey," then 30 minutes of scale practice and it's off to music lessons! Wow! I haven't been this busy in a looong time! Feels good!

No Talisker tonight, but I might be able to score some Irish Single Malt. (Party at an Irish Pub.) Any recommendations?

Buy tea and ask for hot water. Yeah, I may well do that. I'm making a run to the only Peet's in the area tomorrow (this IS the home of Starbucks, after all.) I need to stock up on some teas anyway, so may well get some bagged tea.

Diet coke, there's a Tully's downstairs that stocks it, so I'm covered. And I'm drinking bottled water when there isn't Diet Coke. I'll survive. (And I may well get coffee -- I find a triple shot Latte at Starbucks quite acceptable. But it needs that extra shot.)

Bushmills or Connemara Peated Malt, Tullamore Dew - I think the Connemara is the "peatiest" of them, although the Bushmills is a close second! Sláinte!
