Good luck with the dog. Is it a big one? A healthy big dog as big as a German Shepherd or a Labrador and such can take a lot of stuff before getting into real danger, although that trip to the vet was certainly a good idea. The small ones, however... brrrr.

I hope everything will be alright.

She's small, but not tiny. A 22lb beagle/dachshund mutt. My husband fed her hydrogen peroxide and she hurled everything up (yes, I'm still doing laundry), and the vet is going to do multiple tests and there will be a month long vitamin K dosing occuring as we cannot identify the kind of poison it is. The city of Chicago baited our alleys two weeks ago, and I've been calling them all afternoon to find out if this is their poison, but the phone just rings and rings, no one answers. If we knew exactly what poison it was, I'd be a little less anxious. The vet seems confident that there will be no ill effects, but I worry about everything. Now I'm worried because they said they would call by 6, and now it's 6:12. I want to go get her and bring her home.

{hugs} It hurts SO much to have to leave a 4-legged family member at the vet ... best wishes on her recovery ...

Suggestion: if you have a social media account you might post about this & find out if anyone else's pet has been poisoned, and what the poison is ....

Horrible, pidgeon92, and my sincere hope that she recovers completely. I live in a neighbourhood where mice are a problem at this time of the year, and I've had at least one nasty scare when my Cavalier ate a dead mouse it found on the street. Most likely the mouse had died from warfarin bait left out by one of my neighbours. The good news is, he recovered completely. But I did have a bit of a talk with that neighbour.

pidgeon92, I hope by the time you read this, your friend is back home and healthy. We think rat poison in a field was the reason for the demise of a cat we had many years ago, but he never saw a vet as we didn't know he'd been into anything until we found the body.

Hopefully she continues to recover. That is awfully scary. Yikes. The good news is that you found it fast and got her to the vet. I can understand being a mess until you get past the allotted number of days. Lots of treats and love for the pup and whatever beverage you happen to enjoy.

I cannot imagine what we would do if something happened to one of our dogs. Not only because we love the dogs but because I don't know how to explain it to a three year old. A three year old who dressed up like one of the dogs for Halloween.

ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

I just bought tea from a new merchant. And they don't take direct PayPal payments, but only credit cards. So I used my PayPal debit card, and sure enough, 10 charges in less than 2 hours to gaming sites on that card the very next day.

WHEN WILL MERCHANTS LEARN!!! No small business has any legitimate chance of keeping their site clean enough to trust taking credit cards! Don't even pretend. Accept PayPal, accept Amazon Payments, accept Google Pay even. But don't try to do credit cards on your own. For one thing, it's going to cost you plenty when Master Card or Visa has to eat the charges and they determine it was from your site. But more importantly, that's not the way to make your customers happy.

So, now I have nice new tea, and I'll likely never order from them again. Certainly, when I called them this morning, they didn't exactly sound like the "got it". Sigh.

Oh... yesterday, the third (this time, rigid) TV-mount arrived. It doesn't have any screws that fit into the TV. Even the smallest size is one size too large. So I'll first have to get screws before I can actually mount this thing, hoping it will be stable *and* level this time.

Sigh.
