What Kenny said! I can't tell you how many times I have been out at ungodly hours calling, "kitty, kitty, kitty!" and rattling the treat bottle. Fortunately, now that only happens if Mooch (aka Houdini) makes a break for it - which she hasn't done in a couple of years, thank goodness (and I hope I didn't just jinx it...).

Found him! pheww!

There is a lady two doors up that he likes so I went to ask if she had seen him and he was on a chair in her back yard.

I think he has been attacked by a dog or got into cat biffo. He is very scruffy with slobber on him and a very sore leg. I have put the fan on in the bedroom and put him on his pillow. He doesn't want anything to eat or drink and cries when I pick him up.

He is not going out now for a while. I have him under observation, but I may have to get some antiboitics as I think there is a small wound on his leg.

He is eight years old and desexed. The only other time he stayed out all night was when he got himself lock in a neighbours garage 6 years ago.

Being Burmese he is very territorial and has fights with a neighbouring Burmese. My diamond earrings and new ring are in his head with surgery.

If it is a puncture wound it will develop into an abscess. Take Mr. M to your vet - who can open & drain the wound. Otherwise he can develop blood poisoning and be a very sick kitty!

A cat who doesn't want to eat or drink is sick - or in pain.

Is he breathing normally? Sometimes dogs pick cats up and shake them.

Sorry if I worry you - I've just had experience with cats who got out and lost a fight. I don't know what time it is there - but if he doesn't start eating it would be prudent to run him in to your vet and have him checked over.

Glad he's back. Sure sounds like he needs to see a vet. Animal bites can be quite nasty and very prone to infection.

We are still evaluating his condition. I can't see if there is a wound or not. I saw a little blood on his leg, but I am not sure it is his.(there was a pile of bird feathers outside) He is breathing normally, and just appears to be very tired. If necessary he will have to have a trip to see Doug the vet who is used to dealing with his biffo wounds.

I am worried he may be a little dehydrated as his nose is not as wet as normal, but not hot and dry. I am going to try him on a drink again now.

What's your weather and temp right now? Dehydration can be quite serious, and if he won't drink, he should see a vet; sooner than later, especially with a potential wound.

Mr M update!

Although he didn't want any water apart from licking off the drops I put on his face, he has eaten a serve of roo meat. He looks a little perkier now.

We just have to properly check his leg. Bloke reckons there is a scratch on it. It is probably to late to clean it up, but I am off to check and clean up with chlorhexidine and here's hoping it is not a puncture or else antibiotics for him and I hate sticking pills down his neck!

He has an appointment with the vet in an hour. I can't find a wound on his leg, but it is very sore. We are even beginning to wonder if he had been hit by a car.

Good decision to visit the vet. He could have been rolled by a car, or shaken up by a dog, or just got into a cat fight. Cat wounds become infected so darn easily - it's always better to over-react initially.

And yes - I'd much rather give my cats shots than try to jam pills down their throat. In fact I'm currently giving my old cat B-12 shots to stimulate her appetite - easiest thing in the world to sneak up on her and jab!
