No! I've been wearing this when I go to sleep for all of my adult life.

A bunch of friends and I were staying at a beach house for a holiday weekend. There were probably a dozen, or so, people in the house. In the morning, I woke up to people standing very near where I was sleeping whispering and I could hear someone whisper, "Awww... that's so cuuuuuuute." I realized that I probably had an audience. So I jumped up and said, "What are you looking at?!"

They all scattered like they weren't just watching me sleep.

The only thing I can think of that someone would wear over their heads when going to bed is a sleep mask.

I thought that was the more common name.

Umm, well when I input it into Wiki it brings me to "blindfold". Which is a little surprising to me. I never thought of it as a blindfold.

I would never refer to a sleeping mask as a blindfold. A blindfold is meant to keep someone blinded, after all - a sleeping mask isn't..
