This is why I shouldn't wear heels! I seldom wear them. I did today and I did something to my ankle. It started to be very painful to walk on the left ankle in the heels, to the point I couldn't put weight on it. Thankfully, I had little flats in my desk.

Ugh. I wonder if this is going to effect my plans for step aerobics tonight.

I'm trying to remember the last time I wore a tie...

I know I wore one with my Military uniform... I had a job with a menswear company right afterwards for about a year, and I wore one for that ... I think that may have been the last time. So about 1969. The Admin at my university in Japan told me that all Japanese professors must wear a tie. I told them I was American and wore motorcycle leathers... Oops! I forgot. I had to buy and wear a black tie for my father-in-law's funeral in Japan about 10 years ago. I had to buy the suit to go with it as I didn't have any of those either.

Silly clothing.

Silly, clothing, indeed, Stitch. My grandfather, being a Creole gentleman of an (obviously) much older generation, always wore a suit and tie. There is a story about how a bunch of men at a formal dinner, my grandfather included, went shrimping in tuxedos when someone ran in to inform them "the shrimp are running!"

I have occasion once or twice a year to attend a black tie event; requiring, of course, wearing a tux. That's often enough that financially it makes more sense to buy rather than rent. sooo... since I own a tuxedo I find myself looking for excuses to wear it. There's something about wearing a tux that makes a man feel... well, special. Of course a tie is not always required, in many venues an ascot or cravat or even an open collar serve perfectly well and are much more comfortable.

As an orthodox Jew, there is a certain traditional dress code for the Shabbos... suit, white shirt, tie and hat. Every single week.
I don't mind, except for the tie. What moron decided a noose constitutes being well-dressed?

It's like any uniform, and serves the same purpose. But I'm glad to live a life where Friday Casual is likely to be a swim suit. If that much!

Ties are annoying. But heels? They're seriously dangerous and do evil things to your feet and hips.
