A Dug's A Dug For A' That

A dug that lives in poverty
That hangs his heid an' a' that;
The mongrel though we pass him by,
Is just as guid for a' that !
For a' that, an' a' that,
His breed's obscure an' a' that,
The pedigree's but the guinea stamp,
The dug's the gowd for a' that.
What though on hamely fare they dine,
They're eatin' tripe an' a' that ?
Gie pampered pets their Pedigree Chum,
A dug's a dug for a' that.
For a' that an' a' that,
Their coats aglow an' a' that
The honest dug tho' e'er so poor
Is king o' dugs for a' that.
Ye see thon tyke thay ca'd a champ
Wha' struts an' stares an' a' that ;
Tho' hunners worship at his bench
He's but a cur an' a' that,
For a' that an' a' that,
His big rosettes an' a' that,
The dug o' independent mind,
Just look an' laughs an' a' that
A judge may say your dug is puir
In heid an' coat an' a' that ;
His mooth is wry, his ears they fly,
His movement's spry for a' that
For a' that an' a' that
He's fu' o' pride for a' that
Your gundog's run at the soond o' a gun,
He's still yer pal for a' that.
Then let us pray that come it may,
(As come it will for a' that)
That sense an' worth o'er a' the earth,
No pedigree an a' that
For a' that, an' a' that
It's comin' yet for a' that
That dug tae dug the whole world oe'er
Shall brithers be for a' that.

You know what sucks. the fact that most people tend to read the first few pages and the last few pages, but never the middle. I think my next few posts on this thread are going to include a random quote from the middle of this thread somehwere.

Who knows...it could be yours *points finger at you.*

The Beatles changed the rules. They made it OK to experiment with new ideas, new musical forms, new instrumentations, and new ways of recording. They really opened up popular music to a whole range of innovative possibilities.

The only positive thing I can imagine that would have resulted if the Beatles had never been a part of our world is that if the Beatles had never made that wonderful and inventive movie, A Hard Day's Night, the Monkees never would have had that lame TV show.

I thought it would be easy to find one of your wonderfully imaginative and crazy posts in this thread. I randomly chose to check on page 78, and this was the second post of the page.

Did I ever told you I loved you? 'Cause I really do!

Maaaaan...I was so out of it then...or was I into it? Certainly, from the picture, I was both out of it and definitely right into it. It's always a problem - I can never remember the safe-word.

I love you too, pussycat. When we doin' dress-up next?

Peace, love and hallucinogens,

Awww, thanks, pet. You're a gem.

And that video freaks me out too (I mean, they didn't even use the original version of Rapper's Delight!).

That's how I do it with the otters...I mean, that's how I would do it...if I wanted to...which of course I don't...because that's wrong...hey, look over there, it's a shiny, new thing that beeps!

I didn't think The Monkees was that lame a show (although its hard to judge since the show tended to rerun a little too much), and it was different from what was on the air at that time (I can't think of another show of that time that was like it). Still, they did have some great music, some of which are as good as some of The Beatles' songs to me (The Girl That I Knew Somewhere, Pleasant Valley Sunday, Daydream Believer, and That Was Then, This Is Now).

Of course, if The Beatles didn't exist, we wouldn't have had The Rutles and their great music.
