I'd really like to test this CoolReader's suspend script too (on a Kobo Glo device). But despite trying to browse online resources of this project, I've not been able to find it anywhere.

Have you a pointer or something to find this script please ?

You can download the package here.
Then, using a compression/archive program like WinRAR open the download package then the: KoboRoot.tgz\mnt\onboard\.kobo\vlasovsoft\ where you will find a "suspend.sh"

Oh great, many thanks ! I will try this as soon as possible.

The two scripts seems not to differ a lot, indeed. I can see in CoolReader's one, that some log is echoed to some output : is it possible to see this log lines somewhere after execution ?

The "echo"s are piped (>) to the Linux power state and are a way to tell Linux to modify the power, not logs. (They should be generating I2C suspend commands, depending on the value passed. [ If I remember correctly "2" is suspend to RAM, so I would stick with "1".)

Yeah, I figured that out.
I meant lines like :
Quote:
echo "suspend.sh: delay 2s (dragon)"
I suppose it's there for debug purposes, but whatever, I wonder where it goes...

That is a 2 second delay that was found needed by the Aura HD (codename: Dragon) before suspend starts. The KOReader suspend also implements the delay using a different approach. ( You could think of it as a 2 second NOP) It goes to the suspend.sh arguments.

Is the night mode included in Koreader the same as the separate plugin found on these forums?

Koreader don't include nightmode, only detect if it's installed and let activate/deactivate within koreader.

This is wrong.

Koreader does no detecting whatsoever of a "nightmode plugin".

Koreader's normal generation of the screen data (frambuffer) includes an inversion of the whole screen from LCD to eINK (invert blitbuffer). (This was explained to me on github as that the higher value for the color on a LCD makes it brighter, whilst it makes it darker on an eINK screen.) Turning on nightmode means that this inversion doesn't need to take place. (So nightmode uses less processing time.)

Nightmode in koreader is not a hack in the system to invert the framebuffer send to the screen, but elegantly generates the framebuffer differently and less processor time consuming.

No. They are two different things.

Sorry, my mistake. I mixed the koreader nightmode with KSM that work like I explained before because I always use koreader from KSM.

Again, sorry for my confusion

Note that some devices might actually support the 'inversion' on the HW side, but it's apparently wonderfully broken on a number of them, so, yeah, KOReader does it on its end.

Hi.
I have several doubts or comments.

I installed the last nightly version of KoReader released two days ago. I prefer to read books without hyphens so I always turn off hyphenation but in this last version the option is not available. Is it a bug? How I can deactivate hyphenation again?
I have noticed that in those books where I already had the hyphenation off (because I had opened them using an older version of koreader) the hyphenation is still off, simply none of the hyphenation languages is selected, but if I select one, then I cannot unselect it. I only can change it for another hyphenation language.
The euristic hyphenation option is not available either.

I saw today the "Status" option in the menu of KoReader. It looks great, I can see the cover of the book there, to rate it and even to write a comment. Problem is that it is somewhat difficult to close that page and return to the book. When I tap the top-right corner most of the times nothing happens. I have a Kobo Mini.

Is it there some file or web where I can see the changelog between development versions?

Thanks.
