Cats love those plastic rings you rip off milk bottles. Of course they eventually "hide" them. When we bought a heated pillow for one of our cats she was also terrified of it, now she loves it. Our trick was to first place it on the gas heater she liked sleeping on during winter. She expected it to be warm in that place, later we moved it without problems. Now it's next to the heater and it's very hard to get her off.

Instead of getting stuff I don't actually need or want I got an Amazon gift card. Couldn't be happier. Now I can go and rummaging about to decide what books to get

Yes - I have lain down on it myself!
Yes - I have thought of loudly ordering her NOT to get on it.
Yes - I have covered it with the ratty old towel she normally sleeps on.

I'm now ignoring it - so she can "discover" it all by herself and defy me by lying on it!

[If that doesn't work - I'll put one of my flannel shirts over it - as a decoy!]

Norton loves stuffed toys. Whenever visitors come, he grabs one and tries to get the visitor to play with him. And when kids bring theirs around here, he steals them!

Food has been procured and first session of cooking is done.

One pan of Lasagna in the fridge, 4 eggplants sliced and drying for the Eggplant Parmesan, and all pans from session one cleaned.

Oh, and two ibuprofen downed.

Now to relax for a bit, and watch some "The IT Crowd" and "@#$% My Dad Says".

Yeah, I find them in the exact center of our bed. Usually when I'm about to get IN said bed.

Sinatra (the Siamese) is the only cat I've ever known to actually sleep in a bed. We bought two of them last Christmas, and put one in front of the heater vent in the living room. Usually when it's cold, we can't get him OUT of it. The little calico (Mooch) was using the other one, but we had to move it and now she doesn't like it anymore.

So far the biggest hit in presents has been the empty box the heated cat bed came in! I set it up on one side and Sammy (the middle cat) adores circling it, yodeling as she knocks it flat and triumphantly jumps into it.
Then we start all over again!

Day 2 - heated bed uninhabited - although when we returned from the grocery store there were paw prints in it (it has some sort of memory foam) - but the room was cat-free! Maybe I should set up a nanny-cam to film tonight!

We open the gifts in our stockings tonight, then tear open the rest of the loot tomorrow!

Isn't that true for small children too? The box the package came in being more interesting than the actual present
