Looks like the medicine is doing it's job, swelling is down and she can walk normal again. Cat Rovertje has discovered my fleece blanket and looks very happy.

Going to catch up on my reading this weekend. The past two weeks have been so busy I hardly read at all.

Heading around the corner to my mom's house for our family's annual Christmas Eve get-together. There will be about 20 people I think, and everybody brings finger foods to share. The kids get gifts and the rest of us enjoy watching the kids getting gifts! (This year it's a 14 month old, a 2 year old, an 8 year old, a 10 year old, and a 12 year old, from 3 families. All of those young ones are my mother's great-grandchildren. We're a lucky family. ) Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!

I'm getting ready to go to my in-laws for baccala (Croatians traditionally don't eat meat on Christmas Eve. My mum used to make crazy 7 course fish dinners on Christmas Eve.)

We are just desperately trying to get our 3 yr old into bed so we can spend the evening building up her pirate ship and playmobil pirate stuff so it's all set up ready when she wakes up in the morning. Can't wait to see her face!

Oh Kindleworm; that's hard work....building a pirateship. Send it over to me at once; I also like building with playmobil and lego and such and don't have any valid excuse any more.....I miss it.........we've a 22 yr old.

So ... I bought our old cat (19 years) a super cushy heated bed - plugged it in and placed it where she usually snoozes. You'd think I had provided a bed of nails! Won't go near it. When placed on it she runs out of the room. She is now snoozing next to it!
Guess I'll be spending Christmas watching her NOT sleep on her new bed!

That's exactly the reaction I've always gotten from any dog or cat for the plush store-bought things, but give a dog an old ratty blanket and it's love at first sight.

I've an idea.
You go to sleep on that bed and when the cat comes to sleep with you say: no, no that's my bed". You'll see how soon she will take control of that very bed. Perhaps it should have your smell on it.
