I don't know if you saw the bit of this thread--hell, it must be 6-8 months back--in which poohbear_nc had an issue with Stella, and her runs and stinky poo, but if you didn't, our Storm had IBS, which meant stinkiest poo EVER, and farts. At one point, her IBS was so bad her poo was like Dairy Queen softserve, and THAT was an improvement! We shifted her kibble to Blue Buffalo Adult Indoor Heath, and I'm not kidding, it literally CURED her. She has not had make-you-faint stinky or soft poo since we switched (took about 7-10 days for her to firm up, etc., and she's been fine ever since, that's going on 18 months now). I don't want to speak for Poohbear, but I believe that Stella and his feline household are doing much better, too. (I'm sure he'll respond). Seriously--try it. It's expensive, so buy a small bag to start, to see if it will work for Arwen, but it was a life-saver here. I know of at least one other cat owner, too, aside from Poohbear, that has switched and had the same results. Hitch |

We used to have a cat who used her toxic farts as a defence mechanism. Whenever someone picked her up and she didn't like it she would fart. Nikita's poop was very stinky, but luckily you usually knew whenever she had pooped because she came running down the stairs very fast (as if fleeing from her own stink). |

Yeah, I need to get her into the vet soon to make sure nothing went bad on walk about
She's had the toxic poos since I've had her. Her breeder had her on raw chicken and rice sprinkled with the supplement that is crucial to cats, the name of which escapes me right now. (Btw this is how I discovered that raw chicken had "flavorings added to it) she refused the raw chicken and wanted to be a kibble girl. I'm feeding, I think it's natural balance. Very minimal ingredients, no grains and so on. Over $40 for a 20 pound bag |

I had my last Newfie on the BB, but it was hard to find when we traveled all of the time. Guess I could try again

And this isn't something that yours likely need, but Storm's coat was always sort of thinnish and flatish, which isn't that unusual with some of the MC bloodlines, but it was always surprising compared to Mr. Zep, who is a giant fuzzball, thick coat, tons of hair, plume tail, the whole enchilada of MC goodness. But when I put her on the BB, holy CRAP, (no pun intended) not only did our air quality improve (smile), but her coat went from flat to wow. It has really added a ton of shine and fluff to it. Now, I assume part of that is because she just FEELS better, and thus, takes better care of her coat, but part of it is definitely the BB. I also like that the Adult Indoor Health has some cranberry bits in it, for our male, as you know what it's like with them and UTI's. Can't hurt, is my opinion, and he seems to love 'em. They both like it, which is a blessing. Hitch |

KK - you might want to try Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essences - there's one for IBS symptoms called "Happy Tummy' - I'm using it on Goldie (who used to have Dairy Queen soft serve poos & still has IBS symptoms) - and the poos have improved.

Yeah, I should try it pooh as I've watched feedback on that product for quite awhile.
Hitch, Aragorn and Strider both have incredibly glossy coats. Arwen's is more like what you expect from a wild animal. Not quite stiff or rough, just different |

We got more snow last night. Not much by current standards, and most of it was washed away by the rains and 40° (F) temps, but a coating was left. The mailman, who arrives earlier than I get up, used that as an excuse to not deliver a small package -- and left a nasty-gram about postal regulations and clearing the snow for him.
I have since cleared the driveway (with a push-broom). (I really miss my recently retired regular mail carrier.) |

The Vent and Rant Thread
Maybe the carrier was wearing one of those "Regular and proud of it" tee shirts like that lady on TV. Full disclosure: I want one of those tee shirts!

Yeah. It was 80F and sunny yesterday. Today? 40s and damp. It rained last night. My grandmother called that "pneumonia weather," when the temp and humidity/percipitation went up and down like that.
