I was taught at an early age that all good would be rewarded and all bad going to be punished.
Well, guess what: a lot of bad people live happily ever after. And a lot of innocent people die.
Still; it is the world we live in. I'm not perfect either, so I try to do right by what comes my way.

Strange how that works. The rest of the year you are likely to complain about the lack of customers and the weeks leading up to Christmas the customers irritate the hell out of you making you wish for the quiet times.

Good luck with that! Arrgh I used to work in a shop in a very busy tourist attraction and it was tough at times. I had things thrown at me and verbal abuse on a regular basis and had to just stand there on my feet all day and smile sweetly. Eugh. I would only go back to that now if we were really and truly desperate.

I don't mind it when it's busy, time goes quickly that way. It's more the type of customer that makes me want to punch something. They usually think it's a great idea to come by with broken things (lamps, Christmaslights, etc) when it's really busy in the afternoon and demanding we fix it on the spot and get pissed off when we tell them that we don't do any repairs anymore but they can come by each morning this week between 10 and 11 am and we can take a look at it (if it's something small and easy we fix it, otherwise we can offer guidance how they can do it themselves).

It isn't that bad, luckily. Although last week I introduced a new policy that verbally abusing customers get kicked out. I was tired of all the f-bombs and other expletives people were throwing around when you tell them something is sold out or what they want to do it really dangerous. It really depends on how they curse but I've kindly requested two people to leave last week, getting complements from other customers that we do this.
