I've arranged to borrow a live trap. I plan on putting in clothing that smells like Strider and me as well as pungent food. Whattya wana bet I get a racoon instead?

Strider has had 2 emotions today. Pissed as all get out and not worried about who hears about it, or passed out on top of me.

I've been sick for about 2 and a half weeks now. Wonder if I have pneumonia

I have to let the horses in the yard as the hay delivery is late

That is bizarre behavior. When the late great Mr. Bud got lost--which he managed to do not once, but twice (the first time, 3 days, the second time, the great long 9 days from hell, which resulted in the stocking-full-of-nasty ploy), a neighbor called me, having seen my posts that littered neighborhoods for miles around. He'd been seen at her place, which was a house that was (at that time) identical to mine, in layout and placement, but inverted. (A corner house, at the opposite corner of the subdivision). He was obviously sort of confused.

Anyway, when he got back, that morning, after my 2nd night of dragging the poop-hosiery around the neighborhood for hours, he climbed up on me, in bed, where I'd passed out in exhaustion, and wouldn't budge. I mean, you couldn't peel him OFF of me. He clung to me like a furry, exhausted limpet for about two hours. I carried him around, on my chest, like an infant, all morning. He was obviously scared, relieved, happy to be back. Arwen sounds more like she's making demands for her own safe return!

Of course, that was back when we lived somewhere, where the cats could still go outside. We can't do that here (take your pick: great horned owls, coyotes, raptors of other species, scorpions, rattlers, constrictor-type snakes large enough to get a cat Storm's size, even if not Zep's size, and nasty recluse spiders that can release enough venom to kill a cat. No outdoors for these guys!).

The Serval in that cat is just being really emergent. She's an F1, I take it? What size is she? Strider must be livid. (Disobedient females, and all that!)

I live in a neighborhood where many of the houses are similar. More than once while on our walks, I've seen Norton run up on someone's porch as if he thinks it was ours.

She's an F2. I found her this morning in front of the feed shed. My hand got about 6 inches from her neck and she bolted to underneath my car. I came back in for smelly food and Strider . He was in pissed off mode again
I blocked them away from the front door which is open with smelly food in front of it.

My hay delivery is late and I have to go into town to get it

Yes. The F1 is a first-gen cross, with the Serval, (the litter, IOW, from the cross), F2 second, etc. It's terminology that's generic to animal breeding (well, and human breeding, too, if you don't care about being politically correct), as opposed to specific to Servals/Savannahs.

So I got within 6 inches of her. She was sunning in front of the horse feed shed, I almost didn't see her at all. I was outside doing horse things, hadn't thought aboUT her at all. I've always moved very slowly and quietly around animals, had I darted my hand at her I probably would have gotten her. She immediately went under my car, I tried to coax her for awhile, gave up and went in for cat stuff. Once again no luck. I spent a couple hours with Strider and Aragorn locked in with me and front door wide open. No luck. Went into town to get horse feed, dog and cat food and a live trap. Who's on the deck with both my hands full? Yep. Right as I was freeing the last hand she's off again. When I saw her earlier she was looking kind of miserable.

Here's hoping the trap works!

My rant for the day:

There is no such word as "alot".

I see alot of posts from people who use the word "alot" as if they think it's a valid alternate spelling of the phrase "a lot". Wrong. Although alot of people seem to think that "alot" is a word, and use it alot, it's not a word. It's just plain WRONG.
