I'm really getting a kick out of mini-ITX stuff.

Yoo hoo hoo and a bottle of rum. I have this excellent idea, which puts me in a heavy Chirstmas spirit.
This afternoon we have to visit my 92 year old mother-in-law who has an operated hip, through the thick layer of snow, so we'll go walking.

This is what I thought of: I'll heat a liter of glühwein...put it in the thermos with some Christmascookies and mugs.........we put in our backpacks and off we go through the snow........we'll drink it up at her place. We'll give her a half glass as well.

And Betty: you are invited, with your 89 year old mother. So the two ancients ladies can chatter away about the good old times and we can fill ourselves up with glühwein and good cheer.

Be there both at 15.00 sharpish, see you!
edit: all 90 years old invited as well, off course. Just say the word and I'll heat up some more glühwein.

I just called my mom and read this to her, and she was honestly as pleased as if we were really coming! She said to be sure and tell you that this was her first invitation ever to the Netherlands and she would certainly accept it if she could! So thank you for that!

Two bookcases down. So far I've cataloged 99 books. 56% of which are science fiction, 25% fantasy, 15% thrillers and the rest unclassified.

Three more bookcases left to go, but I'll leave them for when I've got the itch to do something productive!

We plowed through the snow and were welcome with our glühwein and cookies. Mother-in-law could only handle a third of a glass; still being shaky on her legs, but she loved it.

Trying to get my mother out of London. She's stuck after two flight cancellations. First night spent at a floor on Heathrow, now she's at least been provided with a hotel room.

How are they gonna get all people out of London if they don't put in extra air-planes?
And why does the snow come as a surprise each year, perhaps they need to send their people to Norway to get a course in how to plow snow.

Sorry about your plight....you are right about the snowplowing lessons....same issue here when it snows...

Dalmatia (the coastal region of Croatia) shuts down when it snows a few cm. (It's 9 C and everyone is complaining about the cold). I laugh and tell everyone that I'd love to see them experience a Canadian winter.
