The bottom of the page gives the book total. Something like "1-24 of 94571" which Seattle is showing. Of course, I don't know how accurate it is.

As of today (Sept 22, 2015) the three libraries I have access to are:

Toronto Public Library
Fiction 39070 books
Non Fiction 26102 books

Ottawa Public Library
Fiction 19228 books
Non Fiction 6306 books

BC Public Libraries
Fiction 9341 books
Non Fiction 6279 books

I log into the BC system through the Greater Victoria Public Library. From there I have the following access:
Fiction 6668 books
Non Fiction 1185 books

The totals are for all languages.
Toronto fiction breaks down with : English 37345, Spanish 522, Chinese 470, Russian 349, French 291 and Portuguese 105.
Ottawa fiction breaks down as : English 18929, French 167, Chinese 116, Spanish 13, Japanese 2, Russian 1.
BC fiction is : English 8497, Chinese 773, French 69, Spanish 1, Swedish 1.

These numbers reflect regional differences.

I'm seeing 89,726 for Singapore of which 73,236 are encrypted ePUB. That makes them #6 in the world.

If my memory is correct, and it often isn't, they once were in the top two or three.

Thanks - I added Singapore to the list. I also raised the minimum number of ebooks to qualify for the Top 20 from 50,000 to 60,000.

Rephrased, the minimum number of ebooks is almost twice as many titles, as Project Gutenberg has released.

Now imagine the local library cataloging all of the titles that Project Gutenberg has released.

Don't know if this is a fair comparison, but in Wisconsin there is a single ebook source; Wisconsin Public Library Consortium Digital Library. If I'm looking at this correctly there are 42,158 epub books available?

Not enough ebooks for the Top 20 list, but they do make the Top 20 list for audiobooks. I'll revise that list later today.
