It works. You need the deDRM 10.0.9 or alpha and the KFX Input plugin for calibre. And yes, the book will be delivered as KFX.

I was able to remove the DRM from KFX delivered to my PW3.

As I library user and a slow reader, I have made great use of the D&T option to have multiple library books on my Voyage at a time. With D&T going away if I want to load a new library book when I turn on WiFi it will delete the expired. I think I have found a workaround and my first test seemed to work. What do others think?

- With WiFi off I connect to my PC via USB
- Move all the files off the Kindle documents folderto a folder in my PC.
- Eject the Kindle, which now shows now no books.
- Turn on WiFi and using the Send to Kindle option send the new library book to the Kindle.
- Once the library book is on the Kindle, turn off WiFi.
- Connect to the PC and copy the contents of the documents folder back to the document folder on the Kindle.
- Disconnect the Kindle and now I can read both the new library book and the old ones.

Wait, really? By PW6, we mean Paperwhite 6 aka 12th gen, right? I thought 10th gen and newer (firmware newer than 5.17) couldn't do this? I need to pull out my 10th gen Oasis 3 or 11th gen PPW5 and try this I guess.

I have Calibre 7.23 and nodrm 10.0.0.9 alpha and kfx input plugins. Do I need to update my Calibre first? It's 7.25 or 7.26, right?

Getting the .acsm (Adobe Content Server Message) is quite normal since they are needed for downloading an Adobe DRM encumbered ePub.

You would need to install ADE for Mac. Create your Adobe ID and then you should be able to use ADE to download the ePub using the .acsm file. Once you have that working, install the ACSM plugin for calibre (originally called the DeACSM plugin just to confuse matters.

The 4 options for activating the ACSM plugin are:

• linking to an ADE account (this does consume an activation slot but if you run out, you can always beg Adobe for more). Simply enter the email address used to create your Adobe account.
• importing the activation from ADE though I've never done that on a MAC.
• anonymous activation is not something I would recommend.
• if you have previously used the ACSM plugin and exported it's settings on a different machine or install, you can import that file.

Also note that you will need to use the DeDRM plugin if you want to remove DRM from the downloaded ePub.

There's no need to update calibre, unless you want to.

Yes, at the moment the books downloaded to the 12th gen PW can be deDRMed. I guess that will change, though.

I am running this now. Only on page 2 (of 59) but so far so good. Once I figured out how to get it to run anyway! I have previously downloaded all my amazon books over the years but figured I might as well grab them all again since I know some have had updates and then I'll save them in a different folder for now.
