Superheroes Anonymous for $2.99 at Amazon, also available at Barnes & Noble (is it bad of me that I got the sale notice from B&N and then actually bought it from Amazon?).

Bargain @ $1.99 each from Open Road Media, probably good for at least the next week, and possibly until the end of the month (couponable @ Kobo, should be available in all the standard stores, price good for Canada & US, possibly in other regions as well, etc.):

(ETA: this may only be good until the 22nd; today's ORM newsletter has one of the featured books on this sale listed with that as an expiry date, though they've done that before with another previous sale book which turned out to be good until the end of the month.)

Famous Firsts Sale: Fantastical First Novels from Authors Who Made It, with a very good selection of science fiction, fantasy, and some horror-ish novels from quite well-known writers.

There's Octavia Butler, Tim Powers, George Alec Effinger (generally recommended; I haven't gotten around to reading this one, but I usually like his writing), Ian R. MacLeod, Patricia C. Wrede, R. A. MacAvoy (selected title also recommended, it's a bit dated tech-wise, but I liked it quite a lot when I bought it from Fictionwise years ago), James Morrow, Pamela Sargent, Dave Duncan, and many more award winning/nominated genre authors.

I'll note that the Buzz Aldrin/John Barnes book was part of a previous Humble Bundle, so you might have that already, and IIRC, the Frank Lauria book was an Amazon freebie a couple of years ago from former publisher e-Reads before ORM bought them out, so that's another one you might already have. Also some of the other titles are 1st-in-series works that have money-saving omnibus editions which probably work out to be cheaper with a good coupon.

But it's a pretty nice selection and I'll be picking up a number of titles I don't already own.

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:

The Mermaid Game & Other Seaborn Stories by Chris Howard (ISFDB), a mini-collection of shorts tying into Seaborn, his 2008 fantasy novel from Juno Books which used to be an imprint of Wildside Press before it was bought out by Simon & Schuster's Pocket Books imprint, according to ISFDB.

The game was half over when Andy Kavanagh’s wedding ring hit the deck, rolled astern, and went over the edge into fifty feet of cold ocean off Gunboat Shoal... What if everything you thought you understood about the folklore of mermaids, sirens, and naiads was a lie? What if their true purpose for coming ashore and interacting with humans was carefully hidden behind legends of drowning, violence, soul-stealing, and lost love? And the lies were all part of a game, where instead of taking your soul, they returned it to you.

The Mermaid Game and Other Seaborn stories features the novelette "The Mermaid Game" as well other stories from the world of the Seaborn Trilogy and beyond (Saltwater Witch, Seaborn, Sea Throne, and Salvage).

Bargain @ $2.99 for Canadians from HarperCollins (should be available in all the stores; this is the Kobo Deal of the Day in the Canadian store, and it's the same price at iTunes Canada and Google Play when I check, but $19.99 in the US):

Kim Harrison Bundle #1 by Kim Harrison (ISFDB, Wikipedia), an omnibus edition of novels #1-4 in her popular The Hollows paranormal urban action fantasy series starring bounty hunting witch Rachel Morgan.

We've previously gotten #1 in the series as a freebie several times in the past, and this is a really good price if you want to continue with the series. Since this is a multi-store promo, it'll probably last a bit longer than Kobo's Deal of the Day limit (9 PM Pacific Time, more or less), but HC sale price-drops in Canada tend to be very short-lived, so if you're undecided, you should probably make up your mind pretty soon (even excluding the prior freebie-ization of #1, it does work out to just $1 per book). ETA: the individuals cost ~ $9 CAD each (non-couponable) and the further bundles in the series are at the $28 mark.

Get the first four novels in Kim Harrison's #1 New York Times bestselling Hollows series as one e-book! This bundle includes Dead Witch Walking, The Good, the Bad, and the Undead, Every Which Way But Dead, and A Fistful of Charms. Discover this great series at a special price! (synopses for the included individual novels are in the full blurb)

Yeah, sorry for not being clearer on that. It's a Canadian-only price, from the looks of it.

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:

Aquila's Ring by Cat Rambo (ISFDB, Wikipedia), a co-editor of Fantasy Magazine and World Fantasy Award-nominee for said editing work, a fantasy short with romantic elements apparently in her Women of Zalanthas setting, which originally was published in the small press Shadows & Light II anthology in 2011.

In this fantasy short story, Aquila Nenyuk finds herself thrust into a world of scheming nobles and political power struggles. When she falls in love with Marius Tor, will he bring her happiness or heartbreak?

Haven't read the first one yet but who can resist at that price! Still haven't decided whether to wait or just to jump in with this series.

Thanks a bunch, just bought it. I also bought book 1 when it was $1.99 or so. I really like Sanderson's work but haven't started this series yet. Can't pass up that price though.
