Is there an easy way to make a book file smaller? I have some books that are 8+ MB and I don't understand why.

It's been bugging me for awhile and since it's sort of quiet just thought I'd ask. If it's too involved for someone tech challenged, then don't waste your time!

It'd depend on the book. If it's a regular fiction book without pictures then it's likely that the cover image is the culprit so re-saving the image with greater compression or at a smaller resolution can help. I've had a couple of books where the cover was a huge 2500+ pixel wide image saved at 300ppi and then there were also covers for each of the previews in the back of the book too.

Two things cause that. Fonts and Images. I'd get rid of the fonts then resize any pictures that are huge in size.

Kobo won't sell me "Creed" by Kristen ashley. It was there on the page, but when I clicked on it it said it was it was no longer available. What? How does an ebook become unavailable? Now it isn't even showing up in search results.

Guess Amazon will get my dollar.

Same thing happening to me. It comes up in search, but clicking on it says it's no longer available.
