Also, I love how you specified "when parked" for reading in the car!

I use my small Sony PRS-350. It has a nice cover with light included (just add AAA batteries for light, holds and great charge and is so easy to hold when reading while lying in bed.
I also have a Nook Simple Touch (used by my granddaughter a few times when I got it Black Friday weekend several years ago), which is my backup in case anything happens to my Sony... tho the Nook is larger, so I hope I don't have to switch.
Finally, I have a Nook Color I got on eBay for $29, and for which I purchased a card with Cryocenagen & Jelly Bean 4.1 (hope I sp. the first one right); so I can choose either the B&N or the Android O/S. Of course, I use the Android since my Sony (now about 5 yrs old) is so awesome, even in direct sunlight!
I actually got several other ebook readers on eBay over the past few months for my twin granddaughters & their big brother (11 & 14 y.o.) I got the Nook Color for one of the girls & the brother. I got the Sony 600 for the other twin. She loves it since it's easier to use than her sister's Nook; but I'm disappointed in the lack of sharpness in the text, as well as the glare when reading in any direct light. But so long as she loves it I'm fine. I know I covered more than just my main reader; but I thought some people might like to know a bit more about other brands out there.
