Health insurance regulations have less impact on my freedom and actually help me enjoy freedom by leveling the playing field when it comes to buying health insurance privately. And the healthcare regulations like those in Massachusetts and now federally that require people to buy health insurance actually enhance my freedom on several levels, not least of which is that those of us who do privately buy health insurance will no longer have to bear alone the heavy costs incurred by the uninsured who run to the hospital emergency room for every paper cut they suffer.

"Kindle is ready to use right out of the box - no setup, no software to install, no computer required." "With fast, free wireless delivery, you can start reading books in less than 60 seconds. No computer required." "Travel the globe and still get books in under 60 seconds with wireless coverage in over 100 countries and territories" So how are all these competitors who are going to rush forward to sell books that Amazon bans (on a whim) going to get their ebook stores on the Kindle's menu so that the people the Kindle is marketed at will be able to read them?

Any book banned by Amazon is likely to have more links to pirate copies than links to copies for people to buy. Even books that haven't been banned by Amazon have a fairly even mix of search results.

yeah, and? no one is denying people's ability to acquire the stuff. Amazon has just said they are disinclined to provide it. you can't get any Harry Potter ebooks from Amazon either

If you want to buy a book with "Rape" in the title, just go down to Wal-Mart and buy a paper copy. Oh, wait, Wal-Mart "censors" those, too? Why don't you start a thread complaining about them? |

It's not about wanting to buy a book with Rape in the title. It's about Amazon's unfair practice of singling out certain types of books for special treatment and not other similar books. btw: There's no need for a separate thread on Wal-mart, their discrimination against women and minorities, and their censorship of media, is well documented. |

So any writer whose ebook is burned by Amazon can't simply sell it somewhere else instead, like people keep claiming.
