I've quickly come to regret purchasing the e-copy of my textbook today...
This particular ebook requires the publisher's proprietary software to view (cause obviously Adobe reader was too easy). Said software lacks the ability to make proper annotations... you can attach short notes to a particular page, but that's it. This is especially problematic considering that the book in question is a lab manual! What's worse is that the online version requires a constant internet connection... as in one hiccup forces me back to the login page... while the downloaded app for some reason lacks the ability to zoom in! In retrospect I should have seen the fact that the sign up page couldn't accept auto-filled information... Marking the field as blank... as a red flag that this was poorly written software. EDIT: thankfully they were able to refund my purchase. Last edited by Dylrob; 01-22-2015 at 08:34 PM. |

That's got to be incredibly frustrating. I'll betcha that Hitch is sitting over there with her arms crossed and nodding her head vigorously.
So, animals after I'm gone; I had to do a living will for this last surgery (makes you feel SO warm and fuzzy! ). I specifically directed that a good friend of mine who is very involved in the dog world, and is Aragorn"s boarding person when necessary, was to personally pick new homes for the dog and cats. No family members can have a say. The horses are to go to the wounded warrior project |

That is swell kindlekitten.
Sounds like you have quite the little group of animals. I will admit I will ruthlessly murder mice and ants when they move in, but I do feel bad about it. And I do eat meat, which I am a bit convinced is wrong. I am pretty convinced animals have brains and dreams etc. But the unnecessary putting down of an animal one has taken responsibility for (and there were plenty of options) is just plain mean IMO. But my mother was raised on a farm where animals often landed on the dinner table with a name attached. Makes one different I guess. How are you feeling after your latest surgery. Hope it was successful and that you are more mobile and experiencing less pain. Helen |

Still having a few issues. I had fallen shortly after the first surgery and fractured my femur which went undiagnosed for 6 months even though I kept complaining about it to my surgeon. He FINALLY took an xray in month 6 after having done extensive traveling during the summer due to deaths in the immediate family. It has now become Necrotic. I just had yet another MRI done there and on my back. We'll see!

Sorry to hear the fracture has resulted in necrosis. I, too was hoping to hear better news. That fracture has really put you through the mill.

Personally, yeah, that's what I'd be doing. I'm not a ski-er. So I'd be striking them. But I *think* she's actually stroking the skis, not striking them.
Yeah, I know that was a typo. I'm just playing. Keep healing KK.I had a night in hospital 2 weeks ago, with cellulitis. And then a week on an antibiotic which I proved to be allergic to (I wasn't allergic to it before ....). So now I'm itchy as well as swollen. A different antibiotic is making things better, but it's not over yet. We'll see ..... It's lower leg. When I cross the ankle over the other knee, such as to put on a sock, it leaves a dent in the ankle that takes 5 minutes to go away. Like a bruised peach. Ugh! |

This last year I have been on various antibiotics, inhalers etc. for a chest infection. Work for a bit and then infection back worse than ever. Last week I resorted to mustard plasters on the suggestion of a friend. Really didn't want to do it, but after 5-6 days I am breathing normally almost and coughing far less. And I was very skeptical. Thanks everyone! And yes, Deb, you are absolutely correct, I stroke my skis, need to keep the equipment in good shape! I spent a lot of time last summer wearing my ski boots to help the knee straighten out and build up more muscle. I'm sure I was quite a site gardening while wearing shorts and ski boots. Fortunately unless someone has climbed a tree or is flying, no one can see me ;o)

Major snowstorm on the way here, "potentially historic" blizzard due in our son's neighborhood, etc., etc.
Bad time for the cell phone network to get glitchy! |
