My Opal Astra (sold in the US as a Saturn Astra) has a European computer; it only displays time in 24 hour format. Luckily my military background makes translation very easy for me; my wife, on the other hand, has a little trouble with it.

My Opal says "0800 or 2000 and 1200 or 2400". Note the lack of periods or "hours". It just assumes I'm smart enough to know it means the time of day.

I never remember what is am or pm.
In French they say for 12.00... midi and for 24.00... minuit. Also easy
We say twelve or twelve/midnight ( if someone may have noticed it isn't dark yet).

Noon is 12 PM and Midnight is 12 AM.
