But, my next younger brother just retired from teaching at a university out here, and he runs a scientific photography business as a sideline. Since retiring he's been traveling around taking "selfies" at various locations, with or without former students and colleagues, and posting them on Facebook. I'm sure there's an element of ego involved (I know my brother!) but it's harmless fun and it's an excuse to check in with folks he's known for years. I kid him about it, but not too seriously.

I don't really have an issue with the whole "Where's Waldo" thing. I have a friend that's travelled the world with his wife for donkey's years, and we get their annual newsletter filled with what are essentially selfies, although taken by some other hapless traveler. I mean, okay, whatever. Personally, I'd rather see the scenery--after all, I know what they look like--but no big deal. But endless Twitter (Twits--how aptly named) and FB postings of your bloody FACE? I mean, "here's me at lunch, here I am eating burritos, here I am at Waldorf's (or wherever), here I am with Fred my dog..." OISH. I don't understand it. I just must be an idiot.

Well, sadly, one of the states, here in the US, has now outlawed selfies of future DA winners with big cats; but I'm in agreement with that. Anyone STUPID enough to take a picture of themselves with any feral animal, of any size/shape, etc., definitely should have it posted, after their demise or release from hospital. Anyone who thinks that something like a Tiger, Bear, yadda, is essentially harmless should just hang out with a large domestic cat--like my MC Zep, 16.9 lbs of rompin' stompin' furball. It's impressive to see what a large cat can do, never mind a BIG cat, or other forest/wilderness critter.

Me, my niece, and a sea lion on my last trip to San Diego.

STRANGER!!! COME TAKE OUR PICTURES PLEASE! !!
And then the people found it was fun, and easy, so the people went out upon the land and produced all myriad of selfies, 5000 of little Johnny taking a poop for first time, 24,000 for little Sonia getting some kind of noise through the clarinet that was other than a duck quack, mom had to post them to prove she was no longer homicidal or suicidal. And then congressman hot dog decided others were having far too much fun and more advertising on his part was necessary, so Lo! Onto the land was given 2.5 million selfies of what was available at the package store! And Lo! The Lord of Chaos saw all and it represented the perfect state of chaos he had worked for. So a feeling of chaos and despair fell across the land. The people wept and Lord Chaos danced!

I forgot, day 5 of Arwen Cat being in heat. I am phenomenally sleep deprived. This is worse than a colicky new born.

Day 6 of an over the top tooth ache. Every once in awhile my lower front teeth shift. My orthodontist left what I thought were to be permanent spacers in after my retainer was taken out years ago. At Some point another dentist took them out. They started shifting slowly after that with increasing pain and discomfort. This is the worst so far. 2 teeth are battling for the same position. I already had an appointment set for the 12th, not sure I'm going to make it that far

Shoot the second dentist who removed the spacers. Use his spare metallic bits as spacers until you reach your appointment date. Hope the appointment isn't with the guy we just shot.

Arwen Cat is supposed to stay "intact" for contract reasons, I suppose? Bummer. Can you find her a boyfriend, and get her some relief???

I'm pretty sure it was an Army dentist that did it. Something along the lines of; "We didn't issue that nonsense to you soldier, it's going away! " kinda don't think I'll be finding him anytime soon.

Re Arwen, yeah that's the case. I've been dealing with I think 3 to 4 issues s year. This time she has come up with some incredible vocalizations.
Poor thing, I can't imagine what the level of distress is. Every once in awhile she'll crawl into my lap and essentially pass out from exhaustion. Can you imagine your body taking over when you have the urge to merge, and make you wander around HOLLERING! "Hey you, hey you! Over here! NOW NOW NOW! "
