Tea #2.

It's sunny and the cicadas are shrieking ... umm, singing ... again after the past 36 hours of downpours. The grass has had a healthy growth spurt, but the ground is too spongy to mow.

So, tea.

We could buy a condo, but why bother? I like to garden the same way that Jamie Oliver does; he hires a gardener, then walks around and harvest stuff to eat as he needs it, or just grazes in the snow-pea patch. Same with horses. I'll never own another until I'm rich enough to own a groom....

Oh, you bet! I've had enough sleeping on the floor. But Thai beds are almost as hard as floors... just higher. We'll put a 2" 'Tempur' mattress topper on top of it.

Gotta go down to the restaurant... I gave them a package of teas so they could have a pot ready for me each morning. Then it's back to the streets and looking for a home...

Looks like it's pretty much a consensus here today. Definitely a coffee day. Suddenly at
8PM on Friday, a person who had completely ignored the project I'm on suddenly wakes up and decides that a whole bunch of stuff needs to be rethought. I just HATE that. Sigh. At least one of the documents he controls is already completed, and two others are more than 50% done. Arrrggghhh.

...and I guess my timing was off by a day...
While walking around looking for a place to live today, we passed the new shop run by the folks who ran the only Pro shop in town back when a had my photography biz here. I wanted to stop in to say hello. New shop was three times the size of the old one. The first words out of the owner's mouth, after staring at me for 10 seconds was "Oh my God! You've shrunk! (I love it... I've been hearing it every where I go. These folks haven't seen me in 4 years, and now I'm almost 50lbs lighter!) We chatted a few minutes about friends and family (I used this shop as my main working store for 10 years, and sent my photo students there for equipment) she asked me what we were doing right now, walking this neighborhood. I said we were going up and down streets, trying to find a nice condo or house to rent within our budget.

....And then she says the magic words...."Oh! My parents are trying to rent out a two bedroom condo not far from here, and the price is even lower than you've been looking for..." She got on the phone, called mommy and daddy, said she has a 'old dear friend' looking to rent a nice condo...

We'll go and look at it tomorrow. Three cheers for God!

Antigua coffee in my cup and celebrating that it is sooo much cooler today and with a small breeze. Yesterday was killer at 108F.

Stitchawl, what a great stroke of luck. I hope it works out and it is a great place.
