Eventually, I got used tot he roar and was able to walk on a street with lots of traffic without hitting the mute button.

I do read Koine Greek. I'm translating Aristophanes "Clouds", for an exam. I have a whole big pile of stuff to translate, both in Latin and Greek. This is my last semester of classes, and to be honest I can't wait for it to end. Not that I don't enjoy university, but I miss the freedom to read what I please and not what is required reading. This is my second M.A., and I'm starting to become disillusioned with Academia in general lately. It's probably because of overkill on my part. Sorry for the rant!

I love school; and if I could, I'd be a full-time student. But I wouldn't take a full curriculum; that's too much like work! Keep plugging away, and don't become too discouraged. You can always rest after the year ends!

As of late, I've decided to learn Koine. Being someone of modest means, I've downloaded a couple of texts to my Kindle, and have started watching a course on iTunes. Do you have any recommendations for a beginning student?

Since my hearing loss was one-sided, I got used to being able to block out nighttime noise by simply turning on the side that put my "bad" ear up -- then almost nothing would wake me up. It's been a bit of an adjustment being able to hear at night.
