Much-hyped recent novel. Here's an interview with Kelly Link and Paul Tremblay.
I've kept the blurbs in the summary, which I usually leave out, to stress how hyped it is.

I'm in.

Thank you!

The Stand by Stephen King is $1.99 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US.

Quote:
The apocalyptic vision of a world blasted by plague and tangled in an elemental struggle between good and evil remains as riveting—and eerily plausible—as when it was first published.

A patient escapes from a biological testing facility, unknowingly carrying a deadly weapon: a mutated strain of super-flu that will wipe out 99 percent of the world’s population within a few weeks. Those who remain are scared, bewildered, and in need of a leader. Two emerge—Mother Abagail, the benevolent 108-year-old woman who urges them to build a peaceful community in Boulder, Colorado; and Randall Flagg, the nefarious “Dark Man,” who delights in chaos and violence. As the dark man and the peaceful woman gather power, the survivors will have to choose between them—and ultimately decide the fate of all humanity.

Yeah you have to be quick with a Stephen King sale. When it does go on sale it often doesn't even last a full day.

Something’s Alive on the Titanic by Robert J Serling is $0.99 at Amazon US. Unfortunately, it's am Amazon exclusive, so no Kobo/B&N links

Robert is Rod Serling's brother. He had at least two popular books, this one and The President's Plane is Missing. The rest seem to be about aviation.

Quote:
If you forget the Titanic’s legacy, beware.

Something is alive on the Titanic — something powerful and malevolent that protects the once-great ocean liner from the rapacious intentions of those who would desecrate her grave. Whatever is down there was first encountered by a classified mission in 1975, and they could never speak of it.

A previous mission to recover millions of dollars in gold believed hidden in Cargo Hold Three had a mysterious, tragic end. Now, a new group of men and women — scientists, adventurers, and the United States Navy — wants to retrace the steps of that original voyage to investigate where the 1975 mission failed. The rumours of monsters and apparitions can’t be true, can they? As they penetrate deep into the hull, the first people to see the interior in eighty-one years, they find they are not alone…

Something’s Alive on the Titanic dazzlingly brings the ill-fated ship to life in brilliantly dramatic scenes.

Me too. Aside from my usual Calibre tags, I have a separate tag: Underwater. I use it alongside any horror/thriller/sci fi that is in some way based around being at sea.

Lovecraft Unbound edited by Ellen Datlow is $2 in the US (Amazon.com, Kobo)
I was just researching a story, found out it's in this collection, and it just happens to be on sale.
The anthology was first published in 2009. This is a new ebook edition from a few months ago.
Quote:
Here are nineteen Lovecraftian stories—both new and rediscovered—that take their cues from the mythos of the iconic horror writer. Today’s masters of supernatural thrills celebrate H. P. Lovecraft’s oeuvre with tales of weird fiction and cosmic horror, collected by Hugo and Bram Stoker Award–winning editor Ellen Datlow.

In “Commencement” by Joyce Carol Oates, a university begins its annual ceremony of renewal with three renowned scholars whose lifetime achievements are fodder for the student body. A couple desperate to have another child turn to the darkest rituals of folklore and mythology in “Catch Hell” by Laird Barron. And Holly Phillips’s “Cold Water Survival” trails a group of Antarctic explorers who encounter vast, unexplainable shapes in the ice—a danger to humanity awakening from its frozen slumber.

Rounding out the collection are more spinetingling tales from Brian Evenson, Caitlín R. Kiernan, Marc Laidlaw, Sarah Monette and Elizabeth Bear, Dale Bailey and Nathan Ballingrud, Richard Bowes, Anna Tambour, Amanda Downum, Joel Lane, William Browning Spencer, Michael Cisco, Lavie Tidhar, Simon Kurt Unsworth, Michael Shea, Gemma Files, and Nick Mamatas.

Nyctophobia by Christopher Fowler is $4.49 at Amazon and B&N (but not at Kobo?)

$4.50 is expensive for a 'deal' but is the cheapest this book has been offered.

I read Fowler's Hell Train a while back and enjoyed it.

Quote:
“It’s a strange thing, nyctophobia. You’re not born with it. It can start at any time. It comes and goes, and it’s one of the only phobias you can transmit to other people.”
Newly-married architect Callie and her wealthy husband Mateo move to Hyperion House, a grand old home in southern Spain. It’s an eccentric place built in front of a cliff: serene and beautiful, but eerily symmetrical, and cunningly styled so that half the house is flooded with light, and half – locked up and neglected – is shrouded in darkness. Unemployed and feeling isolated in a foreign country, Callie determines to research the history of the curious building.
But the past is sometimes best left alone. Uncovering the folklore of the house’s strange history, Callie is drawn into darkness and delusion. As a teenager Callie was afraid of the dark, and now with her adolescent nyctophobia returning she becomes convinced there’s someone in the darkened rooms.
Somewhere in the darkness lies the truth about Hyperion House. But some doors should never be opened.

The Vessel by Adam Nevill is $3.99 at Amazon US. Kindle Unlimited, so no B&N or Kobo.

Quote:
An eerie folk horror novel from the author of Cunning Folk, The Reddening, The Ritual, No One Gets Out Alive and the four times winner of the August Derleth Award for Best Horror Novel.

'A watcher may remark that after sleeping for so long, the building appears to have been roused.'

Struggling with money, raising a child alone and fleeing a volatile ex, Jess McMachen accepts a job caring for an elderly patient. Flo Gardner – a disturbed shut-in and invalid. But if Jess can hold this job down, she and her daughter, Izzy, can begin a new life.

Flo's vast home, Nerthus House, may resemble a stately vicarage in an idyllic village, but the labyrinthine interior is a dark, cluttered warren filled with pagan artefacts.

And Nerthus House lives in the shadow of a malevolent secret. A sinister enigma determined to reveal itself to Jess and to drive her to the end of her tether. Not only is she stricken by the malign manipulation of the Vicarage's bleak past, but mercurial Flo is soon casting a baleful influence over young Izzy. What appeared to be a routine job soon becomes a battle for Jess's sanity and the control of her child.

It's as if an ancient ritual was triggered when Jess crossed the threshold of the vicarage. A rite leading her and Izzy to a terrifying critical mass, where all will be lost or saved.

Unfortunately, he passed away about 6 weeks ago. He was a wonderful writer. I remember reading the original Roofworld when it came out in 1988.

I haven't read Roofworld, though I do have a paperback of his novel Rune. Ebook not available in the US, but is available in the UK.

I like the paperback cover:
