my pipes finally thawed. I actually had a rupture, but it was aboulits easy as it gets, it was the handle on the utility sink in my laundry room. fortunately it was easy to shut it off there. unfortunately there was a bunch of laundry and other things on the floor. laundry is pretty much non-stop in my immediate future.

Nah. We're just sleeping off the food excesses from Thursday.

I actually did go shopping after lunch yesterday for a little while, and strangely enough, the stores were less busy than a normal weekend. ??? I guess that doesn't bode well for the retailers. Or maybe everybody was out early for the doorbuster specials -- I don't do that. I'm too claustrophobic! Also, I didn't actually go to a mall or to a Walmart. I went to TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Target, all in the same shopping plaza. I bought things at all three places, but didn't have anybody at all in line ahead of me -- just walked straight up and checked out.

cheers Marc. We have just been told the train is only going as far as Townsville (flooding I think - damned wet season), so we have to bus it to Cairns (Flights home and motel already booked Cairns)

All part of the adventure I suppose. I am going to be thinking Poirot the whole time. Gettine picked up in two hours time and I have't packed yet.

OMG have I got enough books on my reader? Yes, but I was going to put 'room with a view' on. Maybe when I get back.
