On the bright side, it does look like you used the right jailbreak. But did the update process actually finish successfully? Ditto on the SS/Fonts front.

I meant that nothing changed when i applied the font hack and the ss hack. I mean, it was like i didn't do anything to my kindle, it still looks the same, with the original fonts, ads and screesavers. I didn't get any errors, that's the strange thing about it.
Anyways, i'm restoring my kindle to the 'original factory defaults' and i'll try the jailbreak and the hacks again. I'm supposed to use the 3.2.1 install even if my kindle is 3.3 right?

People will still choose the first one in the list that looks "close enough", without reading farther to see if there is a better choice.

If there are to be multiple files, the newest version should be first in the list. Unfortunately, that COULD require some creative file name prefixes.

Yeah i got that, i was just confirming.
Well, it worked now. The font hack is ok, the screensaver was ok too, it was working perfectly fine. but when i restarted my kindle to be able to see the new screensavers i uploaded the kindle ads were there again. I don't get it.

And to get back on the filenames, yeah, it's a bit messy, but I want to keep the backwards compatibility, but that can't be done without different files, and the files *have* to match 'update*.bin', so, yeah, can't really play much with a prefix... And I can't really do better than the big, red, bold 'you too, on 3.3' header to the spoiler that I added a while back... -_-"

The only thing I can think of is to put the files in subdirectories: but that'll probably just move the problem to people failing to read a directory name, instead of a filename...

There is a certain crowd here who would probably only read your instructions if they were in Comic Book / Manga format. Plain text is just too boring to bother with. People who CAN read but who CHOOSE NOT to read more than the minimum needed to get by, are generally referred to as "functionally illiterate". A README format more to their liking may actually get their attention.

And there is another crowd who would only follow your instructions if they were in a YouTube video. YouTube is so popular just because it is easier than reading.

If you're using the 'browser' font tweak on a K3, expect some kind of breakage on 3.4. I'd recommend disabling this for now (recreating the empty 'nobrowser' file from a default install). The next update should take the necessary changes into account, but I can't guarantee the feature will still work correctly. It might be necessary for custom fonts in KF8 files, though, so it'll take a bit of time for me to look into that as well...

(By default, this tweak is NOT enabled, so, if you're wondering what the hell it is, there's a good chance you're not using it ).

Other than that, the 3.4 update seems pretty hack-friendly (at least for the stuff in this thread), for now...

Okay, as expected, custom fonts (ours, not the publisher's ) in KF8 files probably require the browser tweak... Will look into it .

Anyone can help me? I reset my kindle and used the uninstall of the jailbreak before the update because i was with fear of some brick in my device.

After the update, i reinstall the kindle-jailbreak-0.10.N.zip (3.2.1), i get the successful message but it dont work. I press shift+shortcuts and got no message

@Fred Vargas: The jailbreak has nothing to do with whatever launcher you're referring to with your 'shift+shortcut' comment...

(FWIW, doing a factory reset *without* uninstalling hacks before leaves your Kindle in a state more inconsistent than doing nothing/doing both. Not a necessarily good idea, unless you know what you're doing).

Anyway, said launcher was just probably nuked when you did the factory reset. Reinstall it.
