One suggestion is that you could remove the µSD card from your Glo, mount it on your computer, download the newest firmware, unzip it and copy the upgrade folder, the KoboRoot.tgz and the manifest.md5sum files to the .kobo directory on the µSD card. After installing the card back into your Glo, it should update.

Thank you so much that done the trick though i could not access the files and because the format thing kept popping up on windows.. however linux allowed me to access it and write the files, wacked it back in and it began to update xD, however even after updating comp won't detect the usb cable maybe i need to try a dozen more usb A.
though now i am able to access it via wifi once again thank you!!!!!

Great to hear that you at least have WiFi access. It's possible that your USB port is damaged. If you've tried cleaning it, see if gently wiggling the cable allows it to connect.

Using a program like balenaEtcher or any other SD card writer does NOT require that the SD card be pre-formatted. These programs write the image over the raw SD card; not over a file-system on the SD card.

Due to the partitioning of the SD card Windows will never accept it and will always tell you it needs to be formatted.

I tried to update the reader this afternoon, however, I have white screen with a long vertical black underscore along the screen.... flashlight have a fast green blinking, reader is totally blocked.

Hello, after some issues with unmounting my Kobo Libra 2 from my computer it was frozen on the USB cable connection screen. I tried to reboot without any luck and then I resorted to soft-reset it.

Once I've done this it got stuck in a boot-loop, only having a blinking led but nothing on screen. If I knew it was so easy to brick, I would have backed my SD card up beforehand, but now I'm stuck with a non-working device.

Could somebody please be kind enough to send me an SD-card image for Kobo Libra 2, so I can try to bring it back to life?
