The Mummy Case is the third in the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters. It has dropped to £0.99 at Kindle UK.

link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mummy-Case-...dp/B007D1CQ7Y/

Spoiler:
Quote:
Join our plucky Victorian Egyptologist , together with her devastatingly handsome and brilliant husband Radcliffe, in another exciting escapade

The irascible husband of Victorian Egyptologist Amelia Peabody is living up to his reputation as 'The Father of Curses'. Denied permission to dig at the pyramids of Dahshoor, Emerson is awarded instead the 'pyramids' of Mazghunah - countless mounds of rubble in the middle of nowhere. Nothing in this barren spot seems of any interest but then a murder in Cairo changes all of that.

The dead man was an antiques dealer, killed in his shop, so when a sinister-looking Egyptian spotted at the crime scene turns up in Mazghunah, Amelia can't resist following his trail. At the same time she has to keep an eagle eye on her wayward son Rameses and his elegant and calculating cat and look into the mysterious disappearance of a mummy case...

After being at £0.99 for quite a while, this title went back up at Kindle UK. It is now back down to £0.99. Link below is still good.

The Mouth of the Crocodile is the next to last title (for now, 2016) in Michael Pearce's excellent IMO Mamur Zapt series. This is one of my top five favorite series.

Crocodile bounces around a lot in price, but per eReaderIQ, £2.54 is the lowest it has been in the UK.

Quote:
“A lovingly detailed portrait of Egypt during the Great War. The result is a bit like a police procedural reimagined by Douglas Adams” Kirkus Reviews on The Bride Box

Atbara, Sudan, 1913. A dead man is fished out of the River Nile. An accident – or something more sinister? A visiting Pasha from the Royal Household believes it was murder – and that he himself was the intended target. He insists that the Mamur Zapt, Head of the Khedive’s Secret Police, escorts him on his return train journey to Cairo, for protection.

It’s to be an eventful voyage. Matters take an unexpected turn when the train is stranded in the desert following a sandstorm. With the help of English schoolboy Jamie Nicholson, the Mamur Zapt pursues his investigations, convinced that at least one of his fellow passengers has a secret to hide. And what was the Pasha really doing in that remote corner of the Sudan? Could the Mamur Zapt’s deepest fears be true? Could he really be about to uncover a conspiracy against the British?

Belshazzar's Daughter is the first in the very nice (IMO) Inspector Ikmen series. It was on sale at Amazon UK back in 2017 as part of a large sale on Barbara Nadel's books. It has now dropped again to £0.99.

link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Belshazzars...dp/B004OBZNWG/

Spoiler:
Quote:
A secret worth killing for...

Barbara Nadel introduces Inspector Cetin Ikmen for the first time in her debut novel, Belshazzar's Daughter. Perfect for fans of Jason Goodwin and Donna Leon.

'Exciting, accomplished and original' - Literary Review

Leonid Meyer is found murdered in his flat in Balat, Istanbul's decrepit Jewish quarter, a swastika daubed on the wall in the old man's blood. But Inspector Cetin Ikmen is quick to eschew the obvious conclusion that this is a racist attack. The evidence leads Ikmen and his young lieutenant, Suleyman, to two people: Robert Cornelius, a teacher observed outside Meyer's flat shortly after the murder, and a retired businessman, Reinhold Smits, known to have had Nazi sympathies. But another link connects these two: a ninety-year-old Russian émigré, Maria Gulcu, a widow who thinks she possesses a secret worth killing for...

What readers are saying about Belshazzar's Daughter:

'An engaging, fascinating picture of life in Turkey. Wonderful characters and a deep plot that constantly draws one to read on'

'An excellent murder mystery set in the twilight world of old aristocracies in modern day Istanbul'

'An intense psychological drama with an impressive array of characters and colourful descriptions of the less salubrious areas of Istanbul. Nadel successfully evokes the hot sultry atmosphere of modern Turkey'

The Late Show will keep you up all night: it's time to meet Detective Renée Ballard.

I've never actually read any titles in the Stefan Gillespie series by Michael Russell, set in 1930's Dublin, but three of the four titles in the series have been nominated (per SYKM) for New Blood or Historical Daggers, so it's probably worth trying.

I noticed this series because the third title in the series, The City in Darkness, has just dropped to £0.99 at Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/City-Darkne...dp/B017RKCCK6/

Then I noticed that the other titles in the series are pretty reasonably priced too:

The City of Shadows, #1, £1.99 at Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/City-Shadow...dp/B007WOC3EI/

The City of Strangers, #2, £1.99 at Kindle UK:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/City-Strang...dp/B00D0VVTYM/

The City of Lies, #4, £0.99 at Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/City-Lies-S...dp/B01LXQRVAL/
and also $0.99 at Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0O5Y9G/
and at Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-city-of-lies-1

In Charles Todd's Wings of Fire, Inspector Ian Rutledge is quickly sent to investigate the sudden deaths of three members of the same eminent Cornwall family, but the World War I veteran soon realizes that nothing about this case is routine. Including the identity of one of the dead, a reclusive spinster unmasked as O. A. Manning, whose war poetry helped Rutledge retain his grasp on sanity in the trenches of France. Guided by the voice of Hamish, the Scot he unwillingly executed on the battlefield, Rutledge is driven to uncover the haunting truths of murder and madness rooted in a family crypt...

A Terrible Beauty is the 11th and next to most recent (2016) in the Lady Emily series by Tasha Alexander. It has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/Terrible-Beau...dp/B01D8FKY8G/
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/a-terrible-beauty-8

Spoiler:
Quote:
In this gripping new novel in the New York Times bestselling series, Lady Emily travels to Greece where a ghost from her past returns to haunt her amid the ruins.

On a quest to distract her lifelong friend Jeremy from his recent heartbreak, Lady Emily organizes a holiday in Greece. As a lover of all things Greek, she quickly finds herself occupied with tours of ancient ruins, lively debates with Margaret, a devoted Latinist, and slightly more scandalous endeavors with her dashing husband, Colin Hargreaves. But the pleasantries are brought to an abrupt halt when a man long believed dead greets the party at their island villa. Lord Philip Ashton, Colin's childhood best friend and Emily's first husband, has returned. But can Philip really be who he claims, even if he has the scars and stories to prove it? Where has he been for all this time? And will his undying love for Emily drive him to claim what's his?

Intrigue mounts as Philip reveals that he has been plagued for the past few years by an illegal antiques trader who believes he is in possession of a piece of Achilles' helmet, a priceless relic that was stolen from him moments after he unearthed it on an archaeological dig. Emily must employ all of her cunning and expertise to thwart thieves who threaten not only her own safety, but that of those precious artifacts she holds so dear. A trail of overheard conversations, murderous assailants, and dead bodies leads her on a chase to uncover more than one buried truth.

Several Ed McBain titles have dropped to $0.99 at Kindle US. For some reason, they are not being picked up by a bulk search, so here they are individually:
Whew!

McBain's titles in the US tend to go on sale more at $1.99 than $0.99 these days, so if you need one or more of these, you might grab it fast. Also, I'm not sure this list is exhaustive, so if you need a specific title not on this list, you might check it.

The Council of Twelve is the latest (2018 for the English translation) in Oliver Pötzsch's Hangman's Daughter series. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle US.

link: https://www.amazon.com/Council-Twelv...dp/B077XVF99N/

Spoiler:
Quote:
The Council of Twelve is the seventh book in Hangman’s Daughter, the million-copy bestselling series.

The year is 1672. Hangman Jakob Kuisl and his family travel to Munich, the cosmopolitan heart of Bavaria, for a meeting of the prestigious Council of Twelve, the leaders of the empire’s hangmen’s guild—prestigious for dishonorable hangmen, at least. But something dark is happening behind the scenes: in the past weeks, young women have begun turning up dead. At first, the authorities assume they are a rash of suicides, but when Kuisl notices that each woman possesses a matching amulet, suspicions arise that someone is murdering them. With no suspects, the superstitious townsfolk of Munich blame the hangmen’s guild, certain that they have called the devil upon the city. Joined by his daughter Magdalena, son-in-law Simon, the rest of his extended family, and a slew of eccentric hangmen, Kuisl must solve the mystery of who is murdering the women. If he fails, the consequences could reverberate across the empire, affecting all the hangmen in Germany.
