What a miserable morning! I'm having plumbing issues and, when Mom put some main line cleaner down the toilets, one of them started overflowing! Thankfully, there was nothing in the water but some of that cleaner and Mom was mopping it up as I was running out the door to work. I just hope it doesn't eat my floor ala THAT scene in Breaking Bad.

Cinder-kitty would not let me give her her shot. She knew what was up and started being on guard and what not before I even got close to giving it to her. I didn't want to hurt her (she may bite and scratch in the way of fighting the shot, but not hard enough to draw blood. I'm giving her a shot but I'm still "mom."), so I gave up. I had fruit at the house but wanted protein and coffee. The cafeteria at work was still closed 15 minutes after it was supposed to be open. The Einstein's bagels didn't open until 8, so snickers and diet coke for me. Not recommended.

/I would REALLY rather be in bed reading David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks!

Just found out a good friend of mine passed over the weekend. Long hard fight with lung cancer. I'll miss you Lorraine

Sorry for your loss, KK. It's so sad when it's so close.

I remember when I was in my mid 30's hearing my parents talking about a friend who had passed over, and my mother said to my father 'I guess we're at that age when we'll be hearing a lot of that.' I couldn't imagine what that would be like. But that was then. Now it's 30 years later. Oobladee, ooblada...

Condoleances, KK. I can't say anything more, except that I'm happy not yet having to experience losing a friend or family member to some sort of illness (only natural causes of old age, thus far, fortunately)...

Oh! It gets worse! I just found out how she died, and it's horrid! I can't share now as I was told in confidence, you never know who is lurking! It's nothing nefarious, just awful!

I guess it's just my day for being out of sorts. Through Facebook I was just made aware of an anarchist group that is going to be demonstrating and holding protests on veteran's day *fume*. Through all sorts of arguments I basically left it at; we've given a lot, some everything. All we ask for is at least one day, you don't have to honor us, just remember us. You do that, and pick any other day and I'll be in the riot line defending your right to free speech even if I don't agree with it.

Ugh! Such a roller coaster with the scare over my son, loss of my friend and now this.
