Hi gummihuhn,
it was your (recent) problem with OPDS servers. My problem (SD mount R/W) was solved. Thank you, anyway. Regarding to the problem with wikipedia I use another "solution" without wifi: StarDict wikipedia Dump (3GB without images). |

I've made several changes to koreader LUA files to suit my preferences (skipping "do you want to..." prompts mostly).
One thing I haven't figured out yet: Is there any way to force koreader to flush/save bookmarks either when I make them, or on suspend? Sometimes (rarely) koreader crashes, and I lose all bookmarks unless I have fully exited koreader before the crash (which I now do from time to time to force a full save). |

Any way to disable highlighting by default? The files I use Koreader for are scanned PDFs so in my use case, highlighting is just a nuisance.

I just lost my reading position today, and it's not worth the risk, even if it happens 1 out of 10 times. |

That's a good solution. I may try that so that I don't need to keep WiFi on. |

I did verify: 1) Add a highlight 2) Suspend 3) Resume 4) Activate Wifi from Koreader (so I can FTP) 5) Bookmark/highlight not saved to disk at this stage |

My (pretty old, 2008) german wikipedia file was originally a babylon (.bgl) file.
Here I found a c++-Code for downloading wikipedia-dumps and converting it to StarDict-Format: https://code.google.com/p/stardict-3...542eaec4d4a681 (If the link doesn't work, search for "downloadwiki.cpp" in https://code.google.com/p/stardict-3/ Project.) I didn't try it, I (only ;-) have windows, not linux. |

Update to this: I think it was crashing on suspend, and would exit to KSM. By chance, I happened to disable "use this book's cover as a screensaver". Seeing the cover is nice I guess, but it's a lot faster to suspend without this feature, and I haven't had a crash since disabling it.

Hi
Setting defaults I have set up a file named defaults.persistent.lua which keeps some of my settings. However, when I open a book, I still have to - adjust the line-height to a certain value (out of three) - adjust the margin to a certain value (out of three) - hyphen language to a language - font family to a font - font-weight: darker Where must I write these above settings so that, when opening a book, Koreader could use them? If I remember properly there was a cr3.ini file that I find no more. I use the latest nightly. Edit: To say it otherwise, I know we can select some settings with a long press. I would like to know on which file these settings are written. Last edited by roger64; 10-12-2015 at 04:03 PM. Reason: long press |

Paragraphs style
Hi,
I'm very new to koreader and from the beginning I have some issues with it. I've found a lot of useful guidelines here and I hope I can find with your help solutions. All my books are epubs and I used to convert them into mobi for kindle pw. Now I have kobo glo hd and uploaded some of my ePub books. In nickel books look fine , using nickels features I'm able to adjust all I need for my readings. Due to some reasons I prefer koreader and here are my problems: 1. I would like to keep book embedded style and be able to change font. But I found it is not possible to change font. 2. So I switched off book embedded style in order to change fonts. 3. After that I have problem with my paragraphs style. In my books after every paragraph there is empty line (added while converting in calibre). After switching off book style these empty lines are removed, headers/chapters are not on central position, style is removed How to force koreader to keep style and be able to change fonts? Or How use book style when embedded style option is switched off? I see there option to change render style and possibility to select from listed. I looked at all these files ePub.css or cr3.css but nothing works for me. I found some information at post #2352 here but still with no success. All I want (at the moment) is just to change font, (but for it I have to switch off book style, and this removes empty lines after paragraph) so I want them still visible... Like rest of book style... Somehow... Thanks in advance for any help and support! Y. |

I often change the Font in books with embedded styles. You could try using the "clear all external styles" then the epub.css. Or if you really want to keep the current css, you could edit it to remove the "!important" tag and save the resulting .css file, with a new name, in the folder the other ones are kept in. (I don't remember where exactly, off hand.) Luck; Ken |

I did as you described and it works! Thank you! In meantime I found "clearing" embedded font in calibre during covering also does the trick: even with book style "on" in koreader I can change fonts for such books. Maybe converting books in calbre as described above makes the same what you wrote. Anyway it works! Thank you! Y. |
