I also do not mind listening to an audio book that I have previously read. Right now I am listening to Uller Uprising. I honestly do not know how many times I have reread this book.

What's crazy is when the same narrator pronounces names or even ordinary words (if not necessarily common ones) differently from one volume of a series to the next. No specific example is jumping out at me, but I know I've caught Michael Kramer doing it with WoT, and possibly also some Sanderson series.

What drives me nuts is when a long running series suddenly has a new narrator who apparently has no idea how special names are pronounced by previous narrator(s). It's completely jarring. For example, Weber's Safehold series, which has yet another new narrator, and the reviews are universally negative. Sigh. I love the series, so I'll likely use a credit for it. But I am not sanguine.

Yes changing from a great narrator to a less skilled one, in a series, can make it harder for me to continue with the series.

Especially when they are priced like the last several Safehold books have been. Not saying that I don't understand why they are so expensive given the size of the books, but it does make it a bit more than an impulse purchase!

Finished up Burn Bright and recommend the book. She has moved away from the Romance aspects of the previous books and seems more focused on the action and paranormal. Next up is Quest for Lost Heroes, book 4 in Gemmell's Drenai series. I've got a lot of driving to do this week, so who knows I may get through it this week.

It's just one credit, regardless of price. And yes, I know that means I'm committing to buying some fixed number of books a year. Fine. Not a problem. I buy way more than that anyway.

That is the advantage of your particular price plan. I've been on the same grandfathered $10 a year plan since I joined way back when. I suppose if I could switch to the 12 credit yearly plan, but I'm not sure if you can save your credits for specific books or if it uses credits until the credits are gone.

You always have the choice of credit or not when you choose a book. I use credits for books that are >$12, pay for those less. (For example, WhisperSync books.)

And if 12 credits are too much of a commitment, there's a Silver plan where it's a credit every other month. I believe you have to call to get it, but it strikes me as a reasonable way to keep an active membership in order to get access to sales, yet most likely save overall on the cost of books since nothing will cost more than $14.95. As always, MMV; I know even the sale prices on many of my wishlist books are over the $15 threshold. And then there are sales (one just ended) where using up two credits gets you a $5 coupon credit. I mostly wait to use my credits when there's a bonus to doing so.

Speaking of Audible credits, does anyone know how many credits are allowed to be rolled over if you switch from a yearly plan to a monthly plan?

If your plan is 1 credit a month, you can roll over 6 credits. If your plan is 2 credits a month, you can roll over 12 credits.

Thanks. But then I guess I'd have to use any new monthly credits immediately and couldn't accumulate more than the six the monthly plan allows, right?

I have eight credits now and a little over two months till my yearly plan expires.

I got the same deal last March, but I've been working off credits during promotions so I'm down to five after this past weekend. However, I plan to quit before my anniversary. I've got a big unheard backlog and there's always OverDrive and Hoopla. I'll re-up eventually, when I qualify for another membership promo.
