I really don't have a TBR list. I do have a "wish list" on Overdrive/Libby. But most of them are in constant spin. Without actually putting a hold on them you'll never get them. Finding something to read is the hardest part of reading. Currently reading, "Icebound", Andrea Pitzer, the three voyages of William Barents(z). |

Sometimes the hardest part of reading is reading the book you've chosen. The book can start really slow or just slow down as you get into it.

Yeah, that's true as well. I don't actually mind slow, but I do mind boring (the two are not the same to me). These days I'm more likely to just DNF the book if I'm bored and the book doesn't seem to be getting better.

What I do sometimes is I stop reading the book and switch to something else. Later I'll go back to it because I do want to finish it.

I've done that too, but not often. If I'm that bored, I'm not likely to return to the first book, and if I'm not bored, I'm unlikely to stop in the first place. Sometimes it does happen, though.

Note that the intended "start" of the timer is when you become an adult. The song is about what you accomplish in your lifetime, and most people don't do "great things" until they are adults. So, 76-80 years old is the "end" as far as the song is concerned. It was written in 1981, so the medical science at that time is also a factor. |
